Another movie that I had never even heard about prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2025. And with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to watch it, now that I had the opportunity to do so. I virtually had no idea what I was in for, aside from whatever little information was provided by the movie's synopsis.
Writer Calvin Lee Reeder, whom also directed the movie, put together a nice script and storyline, which proved entertaining. Though it is a slow paced movie, and you need to venture almost an hour into the movie before things really speed up. But trust me, it is worth the wait. The narrative does, however, feel like it was borrowing a bit heavily from "The Fly", or at least paying homage to aforementioned movie.
Of the entire cast ensemble, I was only familiar with actors Johnny Whitworth, Nik Dodani and Phillip Andre Botello. I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen whenever I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in "The A-Frame" were good, and they definitely had done a good job in casting the right people for the various roles and characters.
The effects in "The A-Frame" were good, and definitely added to the overall enjoyment of the movie.
I found this 2024 movie to be quite enjoyable, though you have to sit through a lot of slow paced narrative before the movie picks up pace. So muster some patience, because the movie ended up being worth it.
My rating of writer and director Calvin Lee Reeder's 2024 movie "The A-Frame" lands on a six out of ten stars.
