Talking Heads: Girlfriend Is Better

The music video for "Girlfriend is Better" was taken from Jonathan Demme's amazing register of Talking Heads performance captured in "Stop Making Sense", one of the greatest music documentaries ever made. If you haven't got the chance to see it, but happened to come across this music video, try to watch the whole experience; the little of energy you get to witness with this clip is amplified with each song performance David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Jerry Harrison, Chris Frantz and the guest musicians from that 1984 tour are on stage, electrifying the whole environment and leaving the crowd in ecstasy.

Mr. Byrne emerges from darkness with his iconic giant suit and our eyes are all over him through the whole act, and slowly the band members start to appear here and there, but it's basically David's moment under the spotlight. There's plenty of energy, rhythm, an explosion of great sounds that invites you to move along and never stop until it ends. And Talking Heads are one of the rare acts where the live version of songs sound equal to the album version and at times even better. Nothing more to be added, this clip is perfect just as "Stop Making Sense" is. 10/10.
