Frankly speaking, I enjoyed Rickshaw as a whole. The cinematography, framing, direction, screenplay, even the fact that it was shot on an iPhone, everything worked in the film's favour. Story definitely we have seen quite a lot of times, but the way it is presented, except some cliches, is a delight to view. Edit could have been a bit more crisp and somethings should have been left for audience to interpret.
Female protagonist looked beautiful throughout and her screen presence makes you fall in love with her. The innocence and her Lucknowi adab, everything was on point and worked in story's favour.
Everything was good in but the biggest let down and buzz kill of the film was the lead male character's performance. I mean I really can't stress enough how bad it was. First and foremost, the accent didn't felt like Rajasthani, and the guy is literally black, BLANK, dead expression. He had his moments, but it felt like only 15% of time he was good, 85 percent of time, it was bad. The climax of the film, which is supposed to be strong, is pulled down by the below par performance, but feel is there.
Casting of the lead male could have been better, as because of the performance, the rewatch factor of the film gets affected. Though I still watched in thrice for the emotions!
Hopefully director and production learns from experience and improves..
Best wishes.
