Terrific film- Thoughtful, provocative, and fun.

We often hear about the free spirit and openness of Burning Man--but rarely do we get any insight into what that means for specific communities. This doc shares some of those compelling stories in a direct and authentic way. Nicely done.

Driving the narrative through the filmmakers worked for me. By experiencing Camp Beaverton through "newbie" eyes, it felt genuine and honest. It also let the women of the Camp become the focus of the film.

I also thought the film does a wonderful job of capturing the beauty, expansiveness, and dust of Burning Man. Wonderful shots. And the music was spot on.

    Overall, a great film.

    Interesting!

Good insight to Burning Man by a unique group of people! It's a good documentary that details what their perspective, expectations and experiences are from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave. That's what make this documentary enjoyable. It also does a good job of giving the uninitiated person an good idea of what to expect should you decide to attend the festival, from the sand storms to bringing everything you need and cleaning up every bit of trash around your campsite. This group of girls should inspire confidence to someone that might be hesitant to attend Burning Man, they know who they are and what they want, the film makers did an excellent job of conveying the girls expectations and experiences to the audience.

    Sideshow to the Freak Show

The title makes this sound more fun than what it is, which is a documentary about a party. It's mostly interviews talking about what is going to happen and what has happened, with little activity actually shown on camera due to the ladies' modesty, though these below average physical specimens certainly enjoy talking about deviant sex. The film does capture some interesting moments of confusion, including a woman who identifies as a man so strongly she feels guilty about not being a woman, and a woman who is so turned off by straight sex that she is attracted to masculine gay men. But ultimately the Beavers come across as decent people just living their lives, which is of limited interest to watch unless theirs is your kind of community.
