[Editor’s note: The following review contains spoilers for “Daredevil: Born Again” through Season 1, Episode 4.]
Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) have always had a lot in common, including a shared belief their beloved city needs to be cleaned up. In “Daredevil: Born Again” Episode 4, written by David Feige & Jesse Wigutow and directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff, Matt faces the limits of his above board legal work when he infers that he’s up against police officers — some of the most dangerous individuals he’ll ever encounter, all protected and propped up by the system he has no choice but to trust.
Matt doesn’t believe for a second that Hector (Kamar de los Reyes) was executed by Punisher Aka Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), and moves right to the obvious answer: it was the cops, because Hector got in their way, and his freedom was both an inconvenience and an insult.

There may be trouble in "Paradise," but that's just how we like it. The hit Hulu series (created by "This Is Us" showrunner Dan Fogelman) landed on the streamer in 2025 to positive reviews and much buzz, quickly making a case for itself as one of James Marsden's best TV shows ever. The "X-Men" alum plays slain U.S. President Cal Bradford, whose sudden death sends Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) on a winding mystery through a post-apocalyptic America.
Along the way, Xavier comes across hidden clues, government secrets, and deep state conspiracies, all hallmarks of a story rooted in a subgenre that is perhaps the guiltiest of pleasures -- the speculative political thriller. Stories under this umbrella can just as easily be titillating, smartly written, and dramatically engrossing as they are oblivious, self-important, and totally ridiculous. Sometimes, a story can be all these things at once,...

For fans of sci-fi series filled with political intrigue, complex characters, and mind-bending twists, Counterpart is a hidden gem. The 2017 Starz series masterfully combines espionage with a parallel universe twist, driven by sharp writing from Emmy-winner Justin Marks (better known for his work on Shōgun) and a talented writing team. With outstanding performances from a stacked cast, Counterpart shares a similar intensity and mystery with popular shows like Paradise,Severance, and The Americans. The series delves into the concept of two parallel Earths resulting from a Cold War experiment gone awry. The two worlds, Alpha and Prime, were initially identical, each containing a "counterpart" of every individual. However, over time, small but impactful changes in Prime lead to growing rifts between the worlds.

It's been a strong year for Hulu, between their continued success with shows like "Only Murders in the Building" and "The Bear," as well as new hits like "Shōgun" and "Paradise." However, one original Hulu series that may have flown under the radar of most viewers is "Tell Me Lies," a drama series that premiered back in 2022 and returned for its second season in 2024. It might be the perfect new series to binge-watch if you can't find a movie to watch on Hulu right now, but its 18 episodes might be not enough for fans.
"Tell Me Lies" stars Grace Van Patten and Jackson White as two college students who fall in and out of love over the span of eight years. Based on a 2018 novel by Carola Lovering, the series has been lauded by critics for its performances, nuanced portrayal of toxic relationships, and its modern take on romantic drama.

It's safe to say that, throughout Hulu's new original series "Paradise", a lot of stuff happens in the show's first season, which spans eight episodes and imagines a world where a private community lives in a Colorado bunker after an apocalyptic event. We spend the majority of our time with Brown's Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, who discovers that his boss, President Cal Bradford (James Marsden), has been murdered in the very first episode ... but Samantha Redmond, a woman who goes by the name "Sinatra" and runs the bunker largely because she's the richest person who lives there, is also a very important character.
Sinatra is played by Julianne Nicholson, a Hollywood veteran who's been appearing in projects since she got her start in ABC drama "Nothing Sacred" in a one-episode role in 1997. Since then, Nicholson has appeared in everything from "Ally McBeal" to "Masters of Sex" to...

The following contains heavy spoilers for season 1 of "Paradise."
The thrilling new Hulu series "Paradise" has set the bar as the best new TV show of 2025. The series quickly became appointment television, a perfectly timed show with poignant and sharp commentary on our current political hellhole, but also one with great character drama, and one of the best twists in a TV show in years.
"This is Us" creator Dan Fogelman delivers a compelling story amidst a mystery that evolves into something bigger. The show follows Sterling K. Brown's Xavier Collins, a former Secret Service agent who fails at his job and allows President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) to be murdered. The rest of the season involves Xavier's investigation into who killed the president, while the larger narrative of the show also explores what exactly happened that ended the world. Yes, ended.

The following contains major spoilers from The Pitt Season 1, Episode 11, "5:00 P.M.," now streaming on Max. It also contains discussion of pregnancy loss.
The Pitt Season 1, Episode 11, "5:00 P.M." is the episode that pivots the Max medical drama toward its final story arcs. Two major characters are given their exit stories, and reference is repeatedly made to there only being one hour until this ER shift ends. Which, if audiences check the episode count for this show, is not technically true -- but these changes create space for the writers to focus as they open up one of the most common medical show plots.
"5:00 P.M." uses Dr. Frank Langdon's departure as a common thread to create scuttlebutt and increase stakes.

Hulu jumpstarted its Emmys campaign for the limited series Good American Family on Thursday — rolling out the red carpet for a special premiere at the Directors Guild of America Theater Complex in Los Angeles. The ripped-from-the-headlines drama tells the story of Natalia Grace, a Ukrainian-born orphan with a rare form of dwarfism who is adopted by a Midwestern family — only to be abandoned a year later when they start to suspect she may not be who she says she is. The eight-episode series debuts March 19 on Hulu.
Following a screening of the first episode, "Almost Like a Prayer," star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo (Kristine Barnett), joined Mark Duplass (Michael Barnett), Imogen Faith Reid (Natalia Grace), Christina Hendricks (Cynthia Mans), Sarayu Blue (Valika), Dulé Hill (Det. Netflix’s Love Is Blind came out of the gate strong with the Valentine’s Day premiere of its eighth season.
The dating show accumulated 1.07 billion viewing minutes in the United States for the week of Feb. 10-16, according to Nielsen. “Severance” is an official television hit. Since the series premiered Season 2 on Jan. 17, the Apple TV+ drama has accumulated at least 3.055 billion streaming minutes, according to Nielsen.
This number was calculated by adding together the weekly viewership for the drama during the five weeks the series aired new episodes of Season 2. Since “Severance” only started to appear on Nielsen’s weekly list of the most streamed shows and movies after its return, there is a chance this is an incomplete picture and more people have been watching the show from Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller. But at the moment, the weekly Nielsen numbers are the most accurate figures available.
The most-watched week of “Severance” to date happened from Feb. 10 to 16, which was when Episode 5 premiered. The series secured 681 million streaming minutes during that week. For comparison’s sake, the only other week of “Severance” to clear the 600 million minutes mark...

“The White Lotus” was a surprise hit when it first arrived back in 2021, offering viewers a look at luxury travel while many remained stuck at home deep into the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now well into its third season, “The White Lotus” is a certified hit series, sitting atop the Samba TV Weekly Wrap Report’s streaming chart for the third consecutive week.
The multi-week run at the top of the chart puts “The White Lotus” in the illustrious company of Max’s gigantic IP titles like “House of the Dragon,” “The Penguin,” and “Dune: Prophecy.” Not bad for a show written entirely by just one person, creator Mike White.

Milla Jovovich recalls how "demoralizing" it was to be a child actor in Hollywood and how this defined her Dazed and Confused role. Jovovich's acting career dates back to the late '80s and early '90s, with roles in projects like Paradise, Married...with Children, Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991), and Chaplin (1992). Released in 1993, Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused features a cast stacked with an impressive array of actors, many of whom would go on to become major stars. Jovovich appears in the film as Michelle Burroughs, who plays a guitar at a fire in one memorable sequence.
During a recent interview with GQ in which she looks back at the most iconic roles from her career, Jovovich reveals that her role as Michelle in Dazed and Confused was informed by her "soul-sucking" experience as a child actor. She doesn't get into any specifics in terms of what projects...

The first season of the hit Hulu show Paradise has wrapped up and got us thinking about several movies that share some elements and plot devices that made the show so popular. One of the things that make Paradise so enjoyable is its unique concept carried out by an ensemble of talented performers like Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and James Marsden. The combination of an extinction-level event with a seemingly utopian underground city turned on its head by a series of murders and a coup d'état really worked nicely and set up a terrific segue into Season 2.

The second panel will focus on music composers and take place Tuesday April 15. There’s also a panel discussion about “Abbott Elementary” featuring Quinta Brunson set for Tuesday May 20, with two more panels announcements to come.

The Hulu drama Paradise, created by Dan Fogelman, wrapped up its first season with a strong 6.3 million views worldwide in just seven days, according to Disney. This number marks the highest audience for the season within that time frame. The show, which has already been greenlit for a second season, is clearly gaining traction on the streaming platform.
The series kicked off with its premiere episode on January 26, pulling in 7 million views in nine days based on early Disney reports. Since then, that number has jumped to 17.6 million global views—a 151% increase. Disney calculates a view by dividing total streaming time by the episode’s runtime.

Are the outies at the Emmys ready to show Severance some major love after its three-year absence?
Apple TV+'s buzzy sci-fi series currently claims the No. 1 position in Gold Derby's Best Drama Series Emmy odds. Season 2 has been airing since mid-January, with a finale date scheduled for March 21. In 2022, the first season of Severance nabbed 14 total nominations and won two Emmys for main title design and music composition, but it fell short of the top prize. Will it expand the haul this year?
Created by Dan Erickson, Severance follows a group of characters played by Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Turturro, and Zach Cherry as workers at the sinister Lumon Industries who agree to separate their workplace memories from their external memories. This weekend at the Severance panel at SXSW, director-executive producer Ben Stiller said, "It's been fun to watch how the audiences have gone beyond the concept … and...

Mystery boxes are notoriously hard to pull off. You have to balance the big mystery while introducing new elements and questions at the same time as you provide answers, lest the audience grows bored and stops watching. And yet, you don't want the entire story to be explicitly and singularly about the mysteries, as that makes for a good Wikipedia entry but not necessarily a good narrative. It's the difference between "Lost" continuing to captivate audiences 20 years after its premiere and "Severance" severely slowing down to answer a dumb question no one was asking.
Then we have "Paradise," which is one of the best TV shows of the year and a great example of the mystery box done right. That is because the show treats them not like lore mysteries but narrative mysteries. The one big question this season is who kills President Bradford...

The Season 1 finale of Dan Fogelman’s Hulu drama Paradise attracted 6.3M views globally in seven days, per Disney.
That’s a season-high audience, according to the company, at least in the seven-day viewing window. There’s not any comparable data to determine how much the audience grew over previous episodes. Disney previously reported 7M views in nine days for the first episode.
Speaking of the first episode, it has now amassed 17.6M global views, up 151% from that initial number Disney put out.
While numbers are scarce, it’s clear the series is doing well for Hulu, because it’s already been renewed for a second season.

“Paradise” scored a big ratings win with its Season 1 finale. The Sterling K. Brown-led drama series snagged 6.3 million views worldwide, based internal data accounting for seven days of streaming across Hulu and Disney+ in international markets.

After a highly successful first season, the Hulu political thriller series, Paradise, has earned itself a second season, much to our collective joy. With characters such as James Marsden's President Bradford assassinated early on in the show, Paradise has proven its openness to killing off fan-favorite characters. Beyond characters that audiences love, there are some who are clearly unhinged, like Agent Jane Driscoll (Nicole Brydon Bloom), who is arguably the real villain of the story. heading into the second season, there is one actress who wishes her character to become somewhat unhinged as well.

The following contains major spoilers for Death in Paradise Series 14, Episode 3, now streaming on BritBox.
Death in Paradise climbed its way to the top of British television by relying on a consistent formula. Audiences know they'll get a full story. Series 14, Episode 3 comes to BritBox with an example of why that formula can also be a struggle, but the episode really isn't about its case of the week.

Hulu's hit new drama Paradise wrapped its eight-episode first season this week. Agent Xavier Collins solved the murder of President Bradford, Sinatra was temporarily stopped, and things appear to be changing in the town of Paradise. But obviously, not everything was wrapped up with a neat little bow. Gotta keep the viewers hooked over the break somehow, right? Paradise has been renewed for a second season and is even set to return to production in just a few weeks.
After wrapping up Season 1's mystery, the final moments of the finale teased something even bigger for the second outing. Consider this your last chance to turn back before spoilers. Xavier spent most of the first season believing his wife, Teri, had died after not making it to the bunker with him and their children. But it seems like she may have survived the initial catastrophe, along with thousands or even millions of other survivors.
