The writer's learned one lesson, at least.

My review about the previous episode mentioned a big loose end (left me confused) that could have easily been tied off. Well, I laughed during the final scene of this episode as Sherlock is seen using a paintbrush to cast fake blood spatter on the floor and Joan walks in and ties off the last loose end...the money. I do take issue with a snowplow driver "on standby" DURING a massive snowstorm in NYC. Really? After over 30 years in the Upper Midwest, I got tired of long winters and moved south to a warm climate. Before I left, what added insult to injury was the state had cut its snow removal budget so instead of constantly plowing state highways while it's snowing, they weren't plowing anything until the snow ended. It sucked.

Trivia
According to CBS, the snowstorm we see in this episode was real. As they stated on their website "5 Best Places In NYC For 'Elementary' Fans", as they were filming the episode "the weather goes from bad to worse". Instead of shutting the production down until it passed, dialog was changed/added to help explain their situation.

Goofs
While mapping out the roadblocks during the storm Holmes used locks to represent roadblocks, and his pet tortoise to represent the ambulance. The shot started out as a side view in which you can see a piece of lettuce, it soon cut to a top view while he moved the tortoise, during which time the lettuce was gone, it then cuts back to the original view in which you can see the small creature consuming the lettuce.
