Who said "too early?" Netflix has unveiled their holiday movie and TV show lineup for the 2019 holiday season.

Proving once and for all that the tyranny of Christmas and the holiday season knows no bounds, Netflix has released a full list of their upcoming holiday movies and TV shows for the 2019 holiday season.

Yes, the announcement comes before Halloween has even had its say but we're just the messengers here. Plus, it's never too early to better plot out your holiday movie and TV watching schedule. Director of Pinewood Pictures Steve Christian is to step down after three years at the company.

Christian, who is also a Pinewood board member, coordinates investment advice for the UK studio’s production arm, which has backed films including Spooks: The Greater Good, Take Down, Pressure, Our Robot Overlords, Dom Hemingway, Belle, The Christmas Candle and Camera Trap.

Pinewood declined to comment on the departure while Christian was unavailable for comment.

Former CinemaNX founder and chairman Christian, who previously oversaw the development of the Isle of Man’s film investment programme, joined Pinewood Pictures in 2012 when the studio took over management of the Isle of Man’s $38.5m (£25m) Media Development Fund in return for the Isle of Man taking a 19% stake in Pinewood Group.

Meanwhile, Christian drama God's Not Dead is shaping up to be a surprise box office hit. Playing at 3,936 locations, Divergent opened to an estimated $22.8 million on Friday. That includes $4.9 million from late Thursday shows. While that opening day figure is nowhere close to Twilight ($36 million) or The Hunger Games ($67.3 million), it's still one of the best young-adult debuts ever.If Divergent plays like The Hunger Games, it will wind up with around $52 million for the weekend. The 52-year-old made her acting debut as a church warden's wife in 2013 festive movie "The Christmas Candle", and now she is heading to the small screen in an upcoming British series, provisionally titled "Diva", according to British newspaper The Sun, reports contactmusic.com.

Boyle filmed her role as a lighthouse keeper's wife in the pilot episode last month.

The Britain's Got Talent star is to play a singing lighthouse keeper in the project, reports The Sun.

Boyle's agent told the publication: "She's very excited."

The drama has been given the working title Diva and focuses on a girl from the Channel Islands who dreams of stardom.

Both ITV and America's ABC are said to have expressed an interest in the John Stephenson-directed show, which filmed a pilot episode in Edinburgh last month.

Stephenson also helmed Boyle's movie debut The Christmas Candle last year.

The singer appeared as church warden's wife Eleanor Hopewell in the film, which also starred Les Miserables actress Samantha Barks.

Boyle said last year that Meryl Streep had been approached to play her in a planned biopic about the 52-year-old.

The Christmas Candle, set in the fictional English village of Gladbury and billed as "a timeless holiday film for the entire family", attracted widespread critical scorn as well as dismal box-office results, having grossed just over $1.6m (£988,000) after two weeks on release.

The bad reviews were perhaps predictable, with the New York Daily News saying: "This odd Dickens-meets-Sunday-school movie is as artless as the setup is muddled", while the New York Post judged: "This throwback, made-for-tv-style film takes the easy way out in a cheesy climax, but its resolute quaintness may appeal to the kind of viewers who regard electricity as disturbingly newfangled.

London, Aug 30: Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who makes her acting debut with movie "The Christmas Candle", ended up redubbing her dialogues for the movie due to her "thick" accent.

"My Scottish accent was a bit thick in places so I had to re-record some of my lines so you wouldn't need subtitles. Note to self, must enunciate more," thesun.co.uk quoted Boyle as saying.

The singeing superstar revealed that she aims to continue doing movies following her debut role in The Christmas Candle, the Sun reported.
