Gorgeous Grampa

Gorgeous Grampa is a great example of how to appreciate modern episodes of The Simpsons on their own merits. The episode opens with a clever parody of auction shows, as Grampa Simpson becomes a viral sensation with his humorous and entertaining performances. The episode then dives into cultural references with Mr. Burns singing a villainous song about the pleasures of being powerful, adding a nice layer of depth to his character. The animation and visual gags are also impressive, and the storylines remain compelling throughout.

One of the highlights of the episode is the lesson that Bart learns. The writers also do a great job of balancing humor with emotion, making for a satisfying viewing experience.

There's nothing political or preachy in this episode.... still, the majority of the episode carries an important lesson on our society and reality tv culture. Watching this ep in 2020 i can really see that we were heading in a bad direction. The lesson as i see it, is that some children and adults behave badly because they crave attention. And for some adults that can manifest as an obnoxious viewpoint thats meant to shock and offend us, all as part of some craving for negative attention. It can become an addiction, and later, as Marg puts it, even turn people bad on the inside. The mentally ill shouldn't be entertainment and we should know better by now. As for those of us in 2020, as my mother use to say, please stop encouraging him.

Gorgeous Grampa is a good Simpsons episode with a fun and enjoyable storyline with plenty of very funny scenes.I thought the idea of Grampa being a very unliked wrestler in the past was a funny and interesting addition the history of the Simpsons family and when he got Bart involved I thought it got even more enjoyable.My favourite part of the episode was definitely Mr Burns music number about being evil,I found it to be catchy and also hilarious, they don't do songs in the Simpsons very often but when they do there always great.Gorgeous Grampa is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

The family see a different side to Grampa when he revisits his days as fearsome wrestler 'Gorgeous Godfrey'.
