‘American Predator’ Series Adaptation In The Works From Scott Rosenbaum & Neshama
Image
Exclusive: Scott Rosenbaum, showrunner of USA Network’s Queen of the South, is adapting Maureen Callahan’s book American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century, as a television series.

The book investigates one of America’s most elusive and terrifying criminals, Israel Keyes.

Keyes was a predator who struck all over the United States. He buried “kill kits”–cash, weapons, and body-disposal tools–in remote locations across the country. Over the course of fourteen years, he would fly to a city, rent a car, and drive thousands of miles in order to use his kits. He would break into a stranger’s house, abduct his victims in broad daylight, and kill and dispose of them in mere hours. And then he would return home to Alaska, resuming life as a quiet, reliable construction worker devoted to his only daughter.

The book, which was...

Tupac and Jim Belushi Almost Gave the World a Frank Sinatra Cover Song
Image
If you think of great musical collaborations that never were, the most unlikely of pairings you could possibly put together might be the idea of actor Jim Belushi and late rapper Tupac Shakur collaborating on a version of 'Fly Me To The Moon'. Yet, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, it appears that could very well have been a possibility, once upon a time. On what would have been Tupac's 50th birthday, Belushi recalled details of the musical collaboration that never was.

As well as being one of the top rappers of his time, Tupac was involved in numerous film projects over his tragically cut short career. One of these movies was Gang Related, a 1996 film in which he co-starred with Jim Belushi. The pair didn't get off to the greatest start, with Belushi calling the rapper out for turning up late to a rehearsal, but the bond...

Image
Jada Pinkett Smith shared what she believes to be a previously unreleased Tupac poem to mark what would have been the late rapper’s 50th birthday, June 16th (although Smith admittedly got a headstart and posted the poem on Instagram on June 15th).

The poem is titled “Lost Soulz,” and while Smith noted that Pac had a song of the same name on the Gang Related soundtrack, she said, “I believe this was the original concept, because he wrote this, I believe, when he was at Rikers.”

Smith proceeded to read the poem,...

'War of the Planet of the Apes' Casts 'Lowriders' Star in the Lead
Karin Konoval, Andy Serkis, Terry Notary, Nick Thurston, and Scott Lang in La planète des singes : L'affrontement (2014)
Gabriel Chavarria, who stars in Universal's upcoming drama Lowriders, is being eyed for one of the two main human roles in 20th Century Fox's Planet of the Apes 3. We reported back in May that the the sequel is now entitled War of the Planet of the Apes, and this movie title has now been confirmed by Deadline. No details were given about his character, but the role was compared to James Franco's role in 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The War of the Planet of the Apes title certainly make sense, since last year's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes teased an all-out war between the apes and the humans. 20th Century Fox has already set a July 14, 2017 release date for Planet of the Apes 3, which currently has that release date all to itself, although there is plenty of competition around it. While doing press for his new CBS TV series Limitless, Alex Kurtzman clarified that the Universal executive's statement isn't entirely true, and that these will certainly be horror movies.

"Yeah, I think it's a fair response and it's actually not - I think there was some lost in translation quality to the way it was received, because I promise you there will be horror in these movies. It is our life goal to make a horror movie. The tricky part is actually how you combine horror with...

"Alicia is your atypical teenage girl. She excels at school. She’s on her way to college... She’s kind of the model student and the model child.
