A trap house, I remember when they were called crack houses, is a house used for making and selling drugs. In the new Tubi Original of the same name director Nicholas Humphries and writer Jordan Robinson take the name literally and give us a drug den filled with lethal booby traps and a few other surprises.

There's a new circus rolling into town, and this one favors a big chop over the big top. As if food prices at such an event weren't horrifying enough, Jack Reher will be doing his damnedest to bring some freaky terror from author William Ollie's Sideshow to the screen.

Reher is the screenwriter behind the upcoming Red Machine, aka Endangered, starring Billy Bob Thornton, James Marsden, Piper Perabo, and Thomas Jane. His Wet House, to be produced by Zero Gravity and directed by Mukunda Michael Dewil, is in pre-production. Reher also just completed an adaptation of the 80s cult classic Pin. Most recently, Reher adapted Jon Bassoff’s highly acclaimed debut novel Corrosion for the screen, and it is currently out to directors.

Just a quick follow-up to this morning's story of a new director taking the helm of what was to be Thomas Jane's Wet House. After the announcement came, we did some digging, made a few calls, and now have an update for you.

Jane is no longer involved with the project as the producers decided to go in a different direction by opting for a female lead for the film. Casting is currently under way. Stay tuned.

It's been awhile since last we spoke about the upcoming flick Wet House, but today news broke of a new director taking the helm, which was originally supposed to belong to star Thomas Jane.

Deadline is reporting that South African writer-director Mukunda Michael Dewil has signed on to helm Wet House for Zero Gravity Entertainment. The elevated psychological thriller from scribe Jack Reher revolves around a psychologist who becomes entangled with the mysterious resident of a wet house, whose apparent psychic abilities help her aid the police in solving a string of grisly, bath salt-fueled massacres.

“I like the idea that everything is layered with this atmosphere of unnamed trepidation — nothing can be trusted at face value, and that kind of foreboding really gives me a lot to work with when creating the world of this story,” Dewil said. Mark Holder and Christine Holder are producing and financing for Zero Gravity.

Beth McCarthy-Miller ("Tammy," "Mail Order Groom") has come onboard to helm the comedy "Mean Moms" at New Line Cinema. The film is based on an advice book by Rosalind Wiseman, the same author behind the advice book that inspired Tina Fey's "Mean Girls".

The story follows a happily married mother of two who moves from small town America to the high-class suburbs and is faced with confronting the cutthroat world of competitive parenting.

Meanwhile, Mukunda Michael Dewill ("Vehicle 19") has come onboard to direct the thriller "Wet House" for Zero Gravity. Jack Reher penned the script.

The story follows a psychologist who becomes entangled with an apparent psychic living in a wet house (a place where alcoholics can drink themselves to death). Said patient proves an aid in solving a string of grizzly massacres.

With The Twilight Saga mercifully over and done (at least for now), it's interesting to see which directions its former stars will take. Next up to dip his toe into the horror-themed waters is one of the younger wolves in the pack, BooBoo Stewart, in his new film Devil's Door.

Directed by Elias Matar (Ashes) and produced by Jack Reher (writer - Red Machine, Wet House), Devil's Door stars the aforementioned and pictured Stewart along with Aldo Gonzales ("Anger Management," "Sons of Anarchy"), the lovely Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), and Nicholas Turturro ("Blue Bloods," Takers, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry).

Devil's Door is described as "an elevated psychological thriller in the vein of a hyper-stylized and grittier version of Death Wish set against the graffiti painted streets of Los Angeles."

Wet House – a place for consuming spirits!
