Sounds of the Streets

You can see there is talent behind this film, especially in the writing. The film grips you with its familiar yet unique and authentic story. It takes its time to build to a satisfying conclusion. It's a genre film that had me surprisingly surprised and on the edge of my seat, despite subconsciously knowing how things were going to unfold. But that's due to the writer/director and star who knows how to mold and shape a story through his love of cinema and intelligence.

The film looks like any other modern film out there. It's a low budget film with low budget charm, and at points, comes off as a big budget thriller. What it's lacking in money or talent, it makes up for in charm. It's not like those tired old Netflix original's where the actors look like they don't want to be there and the filmmakers are just going through the motions, this is like a slice of old where the filmmakers fought to be seen and have a place in the sun. That's where this film shines.

Sounds Of The Streets is a movie for fans of the hip-hop/gang culture, but it also shows how the drug game can be so cold, self selfish and ruthless.

Sounds Of The Streets has some good moments and some good actresses too.
