Why the Short Subjects Were Short

Do you remember the comedy short subjects that used to be part of every movie show, or are you not old enough to remember when people put salt on everything, including grapefruit? Nick Santa Maria and Will Ryan have invented two ex-Vaudevillians, Biffle and Shooster, who starred in many of them, creatures of puns, set phrases an Three-Stooges-like eyepokes and Michael "No One Has Ever Confused Me With John" Schlesinger, produced a series of shorts that recreate the lost children of Hollywood's Not-So-Golden Years.

In this, the first and nominally the last of the Biffle & Shooster shorts, they wind up employed in an art gallery. Robert Picardo has a great bit in which he does a dead-on imitation of 1930s comic drunk Arthur Housman

    • Trivia
Daniel Roebuck runs a lemonade stand and does a slow burn, reminiscent of Edgar Kennedy in Soupe au canard (1933). Later in the film, he reveals his name is also Edgar Kennedy.
    • Quotes

Sam Shooster: What does your watch say?

Benny Biffle: It don't say nothin', ya gotta look at it.

    • Crazy credits
This film was partially made with recycled material. Especially the jokes.
