    Loving the adaptation even more

Cristin Milioti delivered an outstanding performance in this episode; I anticipate an Emmy nomination coming her way. Her acting was perfect; she conveyed her role not just through dialogue but through facial expressions and body movements. The writers did an outstanding job with the character of Sofia.

The writers did such a compelling job describing the horrors of what it is like to be in Arkham. Since its inception, Arkham Asylum has been written to be atrocious and considered hell on earth, but no other depiction has shown the audience through the terrifying perspective of an inmate imprisoned in Arkham.

    Horrible

This was horrific in the best way. The only other time I can remember feeling this way was when watching a Korean drama called The Glory. No spoilers, but if you're rating this a ten, you should check that one out, too.

Cristin Milioti should win every award available for this episode alone. She won't, as this is a comic book adjacent show, but she deserves them.

I feel sick watching what they did to Sofia, the only decent human in her family and she paid for it. Oz was always the antagonist of the show, but he was presented as the main character and so you rooted for him. But, now, after this, all of use are team Sofia.

    Only Gets Better Every Week

I am following this show since the first week and it is only getting better. Whenever you start an episode, you can be sure for one hour of absolute masterclass of acting and thrill. Every actor understand their character at a very deep level and we can see that. This episode revolves around Sophia and we get see her backstory. The story is so simple yet very deep and beautiful at the same time. We can understand what made her like this and why her every action is justifiable. Cristin is shining in every scene she is into. She shows the trauma and craziness both at the same time and looks effortless doing it. Everything in episode is great and this show is not just becoming one of the best show of the year but also one the best shows of all time. It's TV at it's peak.

    Unforgetable and dark!

Damn what a surprise of an episode! This show consistently theows stories of high quality at us, and I am very thrilled at how great it really turns out to be!

This episode gets dark and more disturbing as it explores a place we have only briefly seen, or heard about in a sinister context! Arkham Asylum is portrayed masterfully with its dark and grim atmosphere!

This show is not affraid to get uncomfortable with this episode and I qm very pleased with this, as it nails the tone! To me, I think this is a better portrayal of Arkham than the one we got in JOKER 2!

The amounts of twists does not stop either! It was equally and intense and captivating experience, with Christin completely stealing the show as Sofia Falcone!

    Wow.. just wow!

A Brilliant Adaptation of Every Shade in Batman's World

This episode continues to show the series as an excellent adaptation of DC Comics, shifting from a mafia-centric tone - reminiscent of Goodfellas, The Godfather, and The Sopranos - to something darker, more in line with Arkham. It explores the personal tragedy of Sofía Falcone, elevating her as a complex antagonist. Unlike The Batman (2022), this episode avoids pure fantasy and focuses on the emotional depth of Gotham's underworld, blending crime drama with the psychological decay tied to Arkham Asylum.

Sofía's story reflects the core tragedy of Batman's villains, echoing the Joker's words: "All it takes is one bad day." The depiction of Arkham as a grim, oppressive place emphasizes how redemption slips away in such environments, making her journey even more compelling. Exhausted but determined, Sofía emerges as a force to be reckoned with - a villain not born from power but from betrayal and suffering.

This episode enriches the series, balancing Gotham's criminal and psychological facets, and cements Sofía as a perfect foil to the Penguin. It's a nuanced take that adds emotional weight and tension, showcasing yet another brilliant layer of Batman's world.

    • Trivia
Summer Gleeson, the journalist who confronts Sofia at her mother's fundraiser, works for the Gotham Gazette, which is the major newspaper in the city in both the comic books and in the wider The Batman series. She's also a character in Batman: The Animated Series who makes it her work mission to find out who the Batman really is.
    • Goofs
When Sofia raises her red wine glass to toast her family, saying "Cent'Anni," the fill level is down one inch or more from the rim, whereas when she had begun her speech, the glass was nearly overflowing.
    • Quotes

Sofia Falcone: I've had a lot of time to reflect. And I have to say... I was genuinely surprised at how many of you wrote letters telling the judge that I was mentally ill, like my mother. Not that the judge needed much convincing. My father saw to that. Still, I trusted you. I loved you. And yet, not one of you... tried to help me. Except for my brother, the man you all flew in to mourn. And you know, the real thorn in my side is that, unlike everyone here... I was innocent. I mean, Jesus Christ, Milos has a higher body count than I do.

      Luca Falcone: Sofia!

Sofia Falcone: I know you're all anxious for me to leave. No one has been shy about that. I'd really hoped that it would be different. But I understand, I don't fit into this family anymore. So tomorrow, I'm starting a new life. For the first time, I have hope.

      [Raises her glass]

Sofia Falcone: To new beginnings. Cent'anni.
