Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

This one was hard to sit through at the start.

It's not so much the main story as the pre-main-act bits and pieces stories which the writers use to pimp their pretty standard line the govt is pushing without any sense of perspective. So much agenda it made it a challenge. I get that Tucker Carlson is the face of 'the enemy' but, when was the last time John Oliver's writers did a bipartisan look at the Assange Case, or the Ukraine situation outside of the toe the line allowed talking points? When Tucker Carlson is making you look bad, you must have drifted waaaaayyyyy to far from your integrity.

John Oliver can be funny. His off-show youtube specials especially the one on Air Bud proved that, but I guess a show like today's one proves a solid point that we shouldn't look to comedians for political insight as our previous voice of reason and insight has drifted a long way to the right.

Although we have been able to do that with great comedians like George Carlin, just cos you're a comedian doesn't mean you're going to be on the money, and this show is just so hit and miss these days, with it regularly being so self unaware that it hurts and is painful to sit through. That's this series opener in a nutshell.
