This popped up on my recs and the storyline it depicted piqued my interest. It has an intriguing premise and touches upon social issues, which I presume are real national concerns.
However, it was not as engaging as I thought it would be. It bored me after a while, it felt long and winding despite the short episodes, yet there's no satisfying closure to any of the characters. Also, the female lead acting is terrible. She wears this stiff expression all the time, speaks terrible Indonesian and Javanese, which are supposed to be her mother tongue. Even the extras could act and speak better than her.
Despite the heavy topics it brings, this drama doesn't require concentration and much thinking, okay for a light watch, but violence and gloomy scenes are scattered throughout.
It's an okay series to watch, but a little more effort as some aspects would make it better.

This TV series uses a homicide case to bring out many social issues in Taiwan, including the management of foreign workers, fisheries management problems, poverty issues, and more. Despite covering so many topics, the plot is very clear.
The subject matter of this work is very dark, but the protagonist is always very humorous, so I didn't feel bored when watching this drama.
The author has excellent legal knowledge, so the plot related to the law is very profound.
The issue of abolishing the death penalty is mentioned several times in the storyline, but it does not guide the audience to support or oppose it.
Some dialogues seem to serve as foreshadowing, but they remain unexplained until the end of the story, which is a regrettable issue.
