I had high hopes for this drama, especially as Choi Jin-Hyuk was in it but he mostly took a second lead role and Kim Myung-Soo who had the main role wasn't, in my opinion, that good an actor.
Parts of it were complicated and it often felt like the viewer needed to be an accountant to understand it all and I am not surprised it didn't do that well in Korea's viewing figures (going down to 2.4% at one stage)
Nevertheless I did enjoy watching it - there were some good even great moments in it but it never quite delivered what it promised. For example in the first episodes it looked like it was going to be an enemy to best friends bromance but didn't play out like that. We also had to believe that a rookie accountant could be as knowledgable as Ho-woo was.
Overall apart from the lead actor the acting was good and kudos to Choi Min-soo for playing a great villain.

The show is catchy with some good casts. Now, I know these days we prefer feel good stories, but this drama is ridiculous. The newb has all the answers, is the smartest out of all the accountants, doesn't go through any growth, and things always work out for him. It gets a bit repetitive, and I struggled to finish. The romance on the side helps a bit, but it's not really that interesting either. They added some comedic scenes here and there and those might actually be what made the show some what tolerable. It is a shame because I had high hopes after episode 1, but it just kept going down hill. I personally don't want to suggest this. There are better shows out there. 5/10.
Despite the attractive and charismatic cast this series failed to keep interest. It is impossible to make a series about accountants exciting. And they tried to create excitement with a loud soundtrack and ominous stares. Also they make it like accountants can make or break a company with ratings. Highly unlikely. I found it hard to follow all the talk about the different businesses. Too difficult to remember the names of the companies and the people. The technical jargon is tiresome. And all these words flash by so fast in the subtitles. So hard to keep up.
The plot has the usual suspects evil CEOs battling do good types. Too predictable and clichéd.
The cast is great and all snappily dressed. Kim Myung Soo / L looks just too cute boy band type to be an accountant. Has anyone ever seen an accountant who looks like that? He is better off in romantic roles. Choi Jin Hyuk. He is a great actor but too big a presence for an accountant. The female cast are all glum looking. The villain with sunglasses is ridiculous looking. Unlike old dramas of the past CJH's character doesn't have a problem going against his evil father. The whole of the last episode seemed unnecessary and tacked on.
Skip this one. It is a waste of the cast.

As a CPA I enjoyed the financial machinations immensely. Any writer that can make submitting an audit report to quality control dramatic gets an automatic 5 points. However, there no way a first year staffer could running around a firm of that size. I also found that minuscule library for a two tower firm hilarious. And how the heck could a new kid figured out stuff the Director didn't. Whatever.. just let it go and enjoy the ride.
I appreciated the toned down romance cuz this boy just wasnt ready for that and the twist of the 2nd lead's ex showing up was super sexy. I loved every single actor in the secondary cast. They were needed because the lead isn't the strongest actor but he was a trooper to be the lead of that incredible cast. I look forward to his next film.
Things get totally cra-cra by Episode 8, and you know what? I'm not mad at them. I was screaming, yelling, and cheering. Give it a watch, if nothing else you may appreciate accountants a little bit more.

Korean Drama " Numbers " is an office drama with some romantic subplots to it.
The drama has a predictable plot, with the underdog being mistreated in the beginning and seeking revenge as well as recognition for his talents. The bad guy was too standard and the office drama was so so.
On the other hand, the bromance between the two main leads was enjoyable and often saved the drama from being too boring to watch.
The romance was also okay, cute at times, but the side one was better and more dramatic.
Finally, the performances were enjoyable by everyone in the cast, but the two main leads were truly shinning.
So, overall, three out of ten.
