Sofiah

Was not what I was expecting but was pleasantly surprised! As with all indie films, one doesn't know what to expect but 'Sofiah' was a war story with a very unusual twist. Without giving too much of the plot away I will say one thing, watch it!! The acting was first class with some very convincing characters and the directing was brilliant. the 'Apple' scene will stay with me for a long time. Sofiah proves what can be achieved on a tight budget if you have the passion and talent to see it through. The music was atmospheric and fitted the story like a hand to a glove. The dialogue flows between the main characters easily and naturally which proves that the script was written with heart. Sofiah was shot with a grainy appearance that just added to the period in which it was set. The choice of camera angles added to the underlying darkness of the era and really captured my attention. If you do anything then make it to watch 'Sofiah'. You will not be disappointed.
