I don't usually give reviews ...I think after a long time I saw such a good work in "BANGLA" .. What can happen with good direction I saw it today .. For Subhashree Ganguly,I think this is one of the best of her career after "Parineeta" .. Everyone's acting is amazing.
Directions Directions..wow man wow..No more adjectives to say for now..thanks for making such a movie..I don't know how many times tears fell from my eyes...Feeling proud after a long time.
Sneha Chatterjee has done Lakshmi character really well ..her way of speaking ..her accent..and also angana Roy ..and all the male characters. BRAVO
And last but not the list background music....can't go wrong with any scene..Thanks again..LOVE LOVE.

I thought of giving it a 9 but in this age of rampant trash, it definitely deserves a 10.
Listening to the overindulgent voice of the senior Indubala initially, I was thinking that it would be another pretentious bad attempt at recreating good cinema of the past decades.
But I was pleasantly silenced and overpowered.
Although it has few veins of that approach at places, but those were generally unavoidable. However, the stealer for me was the background score and soundtrack.
Not only did it transport the mind from here to there effortlessly, it did that without overpowering the dialogues and making my ears twitch to catch the syllables of my mother tongue.
Well done team. And thanks!

A culturally enriched, intrinsically laid out tale that not only chooses to speak valiantly of all the difficulties & austerities endured by millions of refugees of war, but also sincerely connotes their daily struggles in reinstating themselves in a new community, reestablishing their roots in a new location, and the countless hurdles that came along.
Indubala Bhaater Hotel appears to touch on a variety of delicate subjects through a simple yet effective narration that brings a broad range of human emotions to the forefront, with its music serving as among its most major contributor.
The composition is impeccable, the songs are pure bliss, and they provide you with the much-needed comfort and notable groundedness that you don't even know you desperately desire until you take a listen.
And when you add some fantastic enactments to the mixture, this amalgamation becomes even more so special; a work of art dedicated to all the Bengalis around the world.

Post partition trauma faced by a young woman named indubala. Who later set up a hotel by her name. But, I don't get association of Muslim characters in this movie. And the ridiculous concept of a Hindu woman having Muslim boyfriend or in other words the promotion of love jihad to indicate communal harmony. Then, why not the contrary happens in this case i.e. A Muslim woman with a Hindu boyfriend. Was there a scarcity of Hindu boys in the village of kolapota? And moreover wasn't there anybody to notice the midnight arrival of indubala's naxalite lover? My ancestors also hail from the erstwhile East Bengal which is now presently called Bangladesh. But, I never heard them telling 'daawat' instead of 'nimantran' for inviting someone. Also Indubala's expression of sorrow for the demise of monirul seemed deeper than the death of her entire family. Sorry to say, but this isn't much respectful for indubala's character. Nevertheless, the storyline isn't very pondering either. An old lady reminiscing bygone days & occasionally tussling with younger her sons on the matter of renovating the hotel.
Yeah, the actors did good job on portraying the characters. But, this web series seemed to me a bit overrated & lacking the engagement.

Why no one talks about this brilliant series? Because it's made in bengali. 🙂 it's really unfortunate.
It's one of my best Indian series of all time. The emotion, the pain, the beauty of this can be truly felt only by a Bengali. It's soooo much culturally rooted that I doubt anyone else will understand the depth and pain of this series other than a Bangali. The struggle of indubala from her childhood to her old age.. The pain of "desh vag", the beautiful Bengali food she cooked (Bengali foods are the one of the best and most complicated food in the world) is just too good. I can keep writing about this whole day, but I don't want my review to be too long so I'm just gonna say one last thing if you're a Bangali and haven't watched this series please please please just go and watch it.
