A young man returns from Marine after a traumatic experience. All seems , at the first sight, more than clear . The stupid jokes of his brother in law reveals a huge stelar womb. No explanations only the premise of desertation.

Two basic virtues - the acting of Jadon Cal and Madeleine McGraw and the atmosphere . The answer , reminding classic Sci Fi and a lot of conspiracy theories is impressive, no doubts.

But the main message is about the connection between siblings and the discover of naked, cold reality by young Sarah.

More than a good short horror but wise kick to reflection about army traumas and about staus of soldier.

    He ain't left either

No pun intended - obviously this has nothing to do with left or right here. This is more a mental and/or physical state that is called into question. And we do know that if someone has been to war ... they carry that with them. Deep inside them even - buried in a sense. Is it good to keep it in or should they just ... spill it? There is a lot to digest ... and you'll understand better once you've watched.

Very well played and beautifully shot - with some fine dialog and suspension that will keep you at the edge of your seat. Family dinner has never been so tense - and you always have someone who just can't be quiet ... as in read the room ... chill and let people be. That said, the short movie handles this very well. And has really good effects too - and the reveals keep coming ... because we have to know what is going on ... actually there may be more coming ... at least it feels like this is a prologue to something bigger ... literally too!

Robbie Ain't Right No More: Tension that builds to nothing

    Plot

A young girl's brother returns from war with a most disturbing souvenir.

    Cast

Directed and written by a erm....electrician?

    Verdict

That was almost 20 minutes? How? It felt like 5, 10 at most. It starts with a quick awkward dinner scene and then descends into generic bland horror and felt like it was over considerably faster than that.

You see the sad thing is the beginning is tense, it's well constructed and I was excited to see where it was going to go. Alas when it reaches its destination it falls on tired generic tropes and has the intelligence of an episode of the Kardashians. It's like they had an idea, but no idea how to deliver it so instead of using any tact they just threw everything at you in a desperate attempt at being entertaining.

Shorts need approaching very differently than feature films, the creator here should have taken this into consideration and took better care.

    Rants

What could I possibly rant about? The film has no substance, no discussable topics, no depth, no hooks, nada, zip, nothing.

    The Good

The first half is at least well made

    The Bad

Bland Forgettable Weak second half Relies too much on generic tired horror tropes and cliches.
