~Crazy that this was my first Japanese show about a music group. Maybe cuz I'm always in and out of Japanese pop culture. For a few years, I'll get into some bands, and then years after that, I'll lose touch with them and repeat! (Not anymore... its tiring catching up)~
Alright moving on: I will admit that I did not like the female lead at first. She was just way too happy for me. And then you have her opposite the male lead, Dan, who was just way too grumpy for me! I'm glad that the members of the group acknowledged that Dan's attitude needed some fixing. In the show, we do find out why the FL always needs to put on a happy-go-lucky attitude. After that revelation she finally grew on me!
I love that in the show we got to see the many sides of the members of the group. And Dan finally cooled down! Hooray!!!! That was a huge relief for me. He was no longer aggravating. I began liking him. The vibe of the show and the personalities of the characters felt like a cool breeze on a hot day.
~*Also I love the female lead's sister! It's rare for me to see sisterhood in a Japanese TV show so it was so refreshing seeing it here! And the group's manager and his boyfriend were very cute! (Fun fact: the manager is the voice of Light in "Death Note")*~
The songs were amazing as well! I had to researched during the middle of the show are these boys an actual group?!!! Because I'm sold! It was such a journey seeing this boy group going from nothing to something. Seeing these ups and downs they had to go through. And seeing many people of different ages come to their support. So heartwarming!
Overall this was such a sweet, fun, cute and heartfelt dramedy. Sadly this show didn't had any laugh out loud moments ( the kind where I start tearing in my eyes). But it was still worth it. I saw this show last summer. I'd always watched it when the sun was setting. My TV is by the window so those beautiful sunsets really helped with the vibe of the show! It really reflected those feel good moments in an episode.

This series about a boy band & their housemother started off okay but then lost the flow towards the end. They needed to have at least one more episode to tie everything up. It was too abrupt.
This series focuses on the relationships within a boy band as they strive to make it in the competitive music & pop culture. Each member seems to have their own 'sense of style' & their own particular struggles played out against the need to be an united entity. The dorm living was very 'cosy'. Some of them were more mature than others as their ages varied. They didn't seem to have options in their lives outside the band.
The housemother was just too positive at times. Her encouragement bordered on the syrupy sweet. She had her own demons which had resulted in her not being able to say no to people.
The romance was not that satisfying as all they did was hug & hold hands. She seemed quite naive for someone of her age, which must have been 10 years older than him. It was hard to believe that a photo of hand holding could be so damaging & that the other members of the band were not more supportive of her.
Overall, I was left with a bit of disappointment in how events unfolded. I would have liked more to develop about the sister & the male teacher. I would have liked to know how they had all gone during the 3 years.
