Cicada

Cicada is a surprisingly well-made horror micro-short. In just two minutes, it manages to send chills down your spine and hint at something more to come. I didn't expect it to be a creature feature, but that's exactly how I'd describe it.

There's nothing extraneous here-every second is used to move the story forward. Of course, we don't know what happened before or what will happen next, but that's the trade-off with ultra-short stories. The setting is dark, limiting visual detail, yet that only adds to the creepiness.
