May on Netflix brings more high-profile original series, including "Grace and Frankie," starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as two women who bond when their husbands -- Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen -- reveal they're gay and leave their wives to be together. It's from Marta Kauffman, the co-creator of "Friends."

Also new, the sci-fi mystery series "Between," in which a disease has wiped out everyone over 21. Unlike other Netflix series, "Between" will air a new episode every week for six weeks, beginning on May 21. Jennette McCurdy from "iCarly" stars.

And debuting on May 22: A comedy special from Jen Kirkman, best known for her appearances on "Chelsea Lately" and "Drunk History."

“Granite Flats” on Byutv is a surprise success with a strong fan base both for television and online. Already in its second season, a few known actors like Christopher Lloyd and Cary Elwes are making guest appearances.

The show is set in a small town during the Cold War period of the 1960s in which there are some strange government conspiracies and espionage occurring.

Latino-Review had an opportunity to speak with actress Annie Tedesco, one of the stars on the show. She plays Beth Milligan, a young mother and nurse in this mysterious town. She delightfully discuss certain details about the show, including some plot points, setting and even the period sets and costumes.

You probably haven't heard of BYUtv before, but the channel — operated by Brigham Young University — is found in more than 50 million households across the country (including on DirecTV and various cable systems). Now, BYUtv is looking to get into the scripted series game, starting with the Cold War-era Granite Flats.

The show, which airs Sundays at 9/8c, centers on a group of unlikely young heroes in the town of Granite Flats, Colo., where they uncover a secret bigger than anyone expected. Executive producer Scott Swofford says the show was inspired by the real-life Project MKUltra, a human research project conducted by the CIA. With Season 2 of the series underway, Swofford answered our showrunner survey to explain why Granite Flats shouldn't stay a secret much longer.

“Blanc Biehn Productions announced today that it has entered into an agreement for the funding of their latest production, Hidden In The Woods, the American remake of the controversial Chilean film which is set to star award-winning actor Michael Biehn and William Forsythe. The production deal was brokered and finalized at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival this past week between Tapped producers Cody Hackman and Rob Freeman and Blanc Biehn Productions. Blanc/Biehn announced in Cannes it has signed a deal with investor Hackybox Pictures to produce Hidden in the Woods, a remake of the 2012 Chilean horror film of the same name that will start shooting in early July in Houston, Texas.

The story follows two sisters raised by their abusive father in a remote locale who must answer to their drug baron uncle when their father is imprisoned.
