Another type of 'Sense of Humor'

Another time travel TV drama, but believe me, it's totally different from those exciting and bloody ordinary time-travel dramas. Instead, it uses many tiny and trivial things to connect the daily life. As far as I know, the screenwriter "Stupid Rhythm" is good at using nonsensical and relaxed dialogues like office gossip to tell the ordinary thing in an interesting way.

There are a few scenes that I can't help myself laugh out e.g. Asami would become a giant anteater, and her friend would turn out to be an Ant, and next Asami asks which person to reincarnate in the picture but indeed the picture is for reference. All these types of dialogues can demonstrate that the writer is very precise in grasping the fun throughout some lengthy and gossiping interactions. It isn't easy! Just like Hong Kong Stephen Chow's classic "nonsensical" and by using that "nonsensical" to bring out a deeper meaning at life. I particularly like the child version of Asami, her performance is very cute and yet mature.

    A five-star cast plus a five-star script equals a ten-star amazing drama!

If I could live again, I wouldn't care about making more money or being more successful, I would just want my four best friends to live happily ever after. All four of them, no one left behind! The witty jokes that come from the little things in life and the high-intensity twists and turns that begins in episode eight, are all very typical of Japanese dramas. I found myself laughing so hard that I started crying, and crying so hard that I started laughing again. It was so beautiful and the best Japanese drama I have watched in a few years.

In addition, this drama has a special significance to me personally because my college years were spent immersed in Japanese dramas. When "Konayuki", ORANGE RANGE, and Greeeen's music playing in the background, it was like my youth was suddenly brought back to life before my eyes. I even burst into tears at the first note of "secret base."

Thought this will be a very dark and heavy series or why would you restart your life? Turns out it's a heartwarming one. There were tons of daily small conversations when the good friends get together, but it wasn't tiring. Japanese are super great at reading 'the air' even when they are children which is impressed !! If I could have another chance, I would definitely try harder but not for money or reputation, just want to work it harder for myself and hope could escape from those harms from other people that always wake me up through nightmares. If I could do this, I think I will have the ability to do a little help for my love families and friends live happily and healthy forever.

    Fun Life, Different Jobs

First of all, I enjoyed Brush up Life, I found it pretty funny and it was interesting to see what the different jobs were like and what it took to get there. It was funny, hilarious and had many good moments, especially the dream sequences and times where she imagined about what she should do.

However, beyond this it was also very repetitive, and it's not just the many reused scenes that might as well be flashbacks, or that outside of taking a completely different route the lifes were nearly identical despite her future knowledge. She did change some things, and while it's even discussed that she could do a lot more, it felt kinda... useless in a way?

Ultimately it feels like the changes and growth she had at the end would have been completely possible within her first life, that combined with the frequent life-skips without the butterfly effect being all that visible was...

I guess it might just be the excessive familiarity of it all that bugs me, she did change a few things, but still, even the 'big' changes felt very achievable and it kinda annoyed me that we didn't feel enough variance inside her life outside of the jobs. A new hobby or aesthetic would have been cool, though I guess we do get one example for that last one and she did look slightly different with each job.

Plainly said, I feel like the premise had a lot more potential, but instead we got practically the same group of friends, sure there were some work friends and the like, but there's neither a new romance, nor any non-school friendships that last beyond a round. That especially combined with the reveals in the later episodes that kinda ignored the wide-spread implications that reveal would have, made me think of giving this a 7 instead of an 8. Because I feel like there instead being a single divergence point that would allow five different scenarios and we'd get to witness them all, might've done a better than the series we got. It's still good and watchable, but I kinda had higher hopes after the first life.

    Brush up life

Brush up life , although it has a simple and even clichéd view of reincarnation But it beautifully expresses the value of friendship and good friends.

It goes without saying that regarding reincarnation, it also shows creativity, even if it is very weak (for example, presenting life age charts, the opportunity to live again in the form of the first life, gaining a certain level of points for being human in the next lives).

Anyway, this topic is very prominent in the religious teachings of East Asia, and due to its nature, it provides work for imaginative works and storytelling.

I don't know, despite such a believe , why creativity is weak in this regard and they don't fantasize more than what we see?

Personally, for me, the subject of reincarnation is like something from the story of fairies, and when I think about it, the fluid flow of my imagination becomes lively.

For example, this idea can be experienced in the context of different cultures, life in different genders, different countries, different eras, different races.

I really liked the interesting connection of the first sequence of the series with the conclusion and the end of the story. It was an interesting symbol.

What is important beyond these repeated lives is to remember the value and place of choices, how much we affect the betterment or worse of ourselves, our surroundings, and our world with our choices in life.

I will go over the criticisms of the series and some of the judgments of the work which, in my opinion, are negative and clearly create a difference between jobs (human society needs different expertise and anyone in any role can do great things and a positive score or reward earn)

    And finally

Think if you are given a chance to go and explore your life, what would you do? Which parts do you delete? Which parts do you keep? And will you try harder to get positive points, reward ?
