Mumbai, March 23: Indian-Australian actress Pallavi Sharda, who made her Bollywood debut with "Besharam", is happy being part of the Hindi filmdom and says the West doesn't look down upon the industry.

"I am extremely happy being part of Bollywood or being called a Hindi film actress. As far as West is concerned, they enjoy Bollywood and they don't look down upon Bollywood," Pallavi told Ians.

The year 2013 wasn’t without its awful dreck, unlistenable songs, and dreadfully earnest star sons trying their hand at acting. Awful Actress – Pallavi Sharda

It was quite astonishing that Sharda managed to bodge up a dream debut with Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam. While the film was hyped to be a rollicking comedy, Sharda was picked out from the crop of Bollywood actresses for Abhinav Kashyap’s film away from Dabangg mania. Sharda looked completely uncomfortable in her big role, where the three Kapoors tried to salvage the crumbling story and bad writing.

The year in song in 2013 certainly was a treat for Hindi music fans. Chennai, Nov 30: "Besharam" girl Pallavi Sharda has been roped in by filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon for his yet untitled Tamil romantic drama. The film also features Silambarasan aka Simbu.

"I wanted a heroine who could give us bulk dates and I know for a fact that all the established actresses are extremely busy, and therefore, I roped in Pallavi. Moreover, when I met her, I liked her confidence and eventually signed her on," Menon told Ians.

Pallavi, who had earlier starred in films such as "My Name is Khan" and "Dus Tola", has already shot for nearly two weeks for the film, which was launched recently.

Instead, Kapoor prefers to stay positive and values the experience of working with his parents and director Abhinav Kashiap. As he added, “I have done mistakes and try and learn from it. I have seen success, failure both and wherever I am today professionally is because of my success and failure.”

Mumbai, Oct 24: Actor Ranbir Kapoor, whose last film "Besharam" was trashed by the critics and rejected by the audience, says he doesn't regret doing romantic-comedy.

When asked if he regreta doing the film, the 31-year-old said: "Not at all. I don't regret doing 'Besharam'."
