House of Abraham is thought-provoking and button-pushing at its finest.
Hassel's script and Belcher's direction keep the action moving forward even as the film takes its time building suspense through the excellent character building by each of the talented cast members.
Hassel's Abraham is chilling, manipulative and malignant - wrapped in a seductive shell of intelligent charm. Lin Shaye as Beatrice is a tour de force of subtle insanity.
While Belcher keeps the tension dialed up the film manages to score outside of the genre with it's handling of multiple sensitive subjects too often glossed over or ignored.
The script keeps you guessing until the very end. See it!

Great movie with even greater performers. First of its kind horror film that left the movie theater wanting more!! Hoping for a part 2 with deeper context behind the origin story, there's so many directions that can possibly be explored in a 2nd part. The storyline gives you just enough detail to understand throughout the movie yet leaves enough space for questions and assumptions that are either confirmed or denied by series of plot twists that make total sense when it all comes together. An easy exciting watch that is very cleverly written and directed, highlighting modern day mental health misconceptions and stereotypes with perfect comedic relief & timing.
House of Abraham commits to sharing the human condition and the choices we make when we are at our most vulnerable. It's rich in layers that continue to unfold after watching the film. I appreciate the exploration of what happens when manipulation takes control of the psyche, and the weight the characters carry as a result is intriguing. I could feel the inner conflict of the characters. It's also clear that the writer and director were thoughtful and careful in their exploring the themes. It's easy to fall into cliches, which you'll understand what I mean once you see the film. The twist is cathartic to top it all off. Well acted, deep and thought provoking!
Absolutely brilliantly-penned film, a tour de force by all actors, a well-developed thriller/horror film that you must RUN to see!
Natasha Henstridge is as stunning as ever; Lukas Hassel is as handsomely menacing as ever; and Lin Shaye is as Lin Shaye as ever... if not more so! The rest of the cast is incredible!
This is everything you want out of a film in this genre! Twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. A never seen before story. Brilliant performances. Beautiful locations! And some perfectly-uncomfortable scenes that will grip you tight, steal your breath, shake you up, and leave you wanting to run home- yet still want to stay for more! Highly recommend you see this gem!

I had the pleasure of seeing this film on a school trip and when I went did I did NOT expect a single thing which was amazing. The film was very nicely written and very amazingly shot. The characters were all very notable in their own ways and the dialogue felt very natural. Every single, actor and the characters they played kept me drawn in the whole time and holy moly THE PLOT TWISTS. The plot twists will have you jump out of your seat like "WHAT!" This movie also does a pretty good job with it's depictions of mental health and the battles people really go through. AMAZING FILM PLEASE WATCH.
