Fiancés malgré eux

The uncomfortable plot really doesn't suit Paris - if the leads had simply been straightforward colleagues that fell in love whilst interviewing couples at romantic locations for the ad campaign, it would have made better use of the city. Instead the frequent bickering and stressful interactions the two have with each other and secondary characters, is just irritating and spoils memories of the place for those of us who've been. It doesn't make me want to go again, and nor see this production through, and definitely not rewatch. It's a missed opportunity really, as there could have been a great movie produced with this team if the script had been more uplifting.

We have here the start of a classic antipathetic romance, and unlike most antipathetic romances in these Hallmark movies, the writers had the courage to carry the tense relationship deep into the movie ... almost to the end, in fact.

The man (a Frenchman with a disaster in his family's business) develops exorbitantly expensive ideas for ad campaigns. The woman (with a one year disaster of a marriage in her past) is practical and keeps her ad campaign ideas sensible.

Together they're assigned to travel to Paris to secure the account of a French diamond jewelry house who wants to expand into the USA.

The story of their conflicting ideas for the ad campaign needed to win the account drives the movie, and in the end they come to an mutual idea surprisingly easily.

However, the movie is charming, in my mind more because of the older French couple who own the diamond house than the stars.

It is a beautiful film. For mime, Pont Alexandre III, for mon petit chou and, maybe, for story and performances.

Like many other films, Paris ( in Bulgarian version, to ) is the real character of film. Near diamonds, cliches and effort of reasonable story about a forced lie, an important project, the bad competitioner and the unrealistic final.

Alexa PenaVega offers her familiar character , strong and vulnerable in same measure, Nicholas Bishop proposes a charming sebastian in difficult relation with his family and the reference to Parisian jewellers sounds not so bad.

So, familiar scenes, a too long film and couples in Paris.

I'm amazed because most people have same types of people getting together but recently we can see people who are so different from eachother and even though there's difference in their characters they still like and love eachother and okay with eachother...this movie is all about love and opposite characters falling in love with eachother and screen presence of these actors and actresses are so real and it's like we're seeing from the couples pov . Other actors and actresses did so well...that boss lady for this main couple...she did so well and we support black women acting and Awesome movie.

I was so looking forward to this movie. I really like Alexa PenaVega and the movie was filmed in Paris. Beautiful city and great food.

The movie is about two advertising people trying to get a major France jewelry account and accidentally pose as a married couple. The ads looked funny, but although the one-liners were cute, there was no chemistry between the actors.

I watched for half the movie and gave up. The characters were sooo boring, the story was sooo boring, no chemistry and I just couldn't keep any interest. Terribly disappointed. Total Meh movie.

Hopefully Hallmark starts doing better movies for Alexa PenaVega.
