A Bengal for Christmas

Of course I was not familiar with this 2023 movie titled "A Bengal for Christmas", prior to sitting down and watching it.

I am amazed that writers Brad Banacka, Dustin Ferguson and Erik Anthony Russo collectively could manage to churn out something that bland and boring. The storyline was not interesting or entertaining.

Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, as this was nothing more than a homemade Christmas movie project.

The movie contained a lot, and I do mean a lot, of filler scenes, where you just get to see scenes from around the city. It served the movie's narrative zero purpose, and it was just there to extend the playtime of the movie.

The music in the movie is nothing short of atrocious.

If you enjoy terrible Christmas movies, then "A Bengal for Christmas" would be right up your alley.

This was definitely not a purr-fect Christmas movie, no pun intended.

My rating of director Dustin Ferguson's 2023 movie "A Bengal for Christmas" lands on a one out of ten stars.

If you're a fan of intentionally terrible movies and feel like something with a festive flavor this is will be right up your alley. A simple story about a, you guessed it, bengal cat from the North Pole set to save Christmas for a sad girl and her mother from the schemes of a greedy landlord. This movie has all of the hallmarks (not Hallmark) of the genre: stiff acting, awkward dialogue, terrible CG and cuts between these and decently shot scenery b-reel. Absolutely a love it or hate it affair; either you laugh your way through the schlock or roll your eyes a turn it off after a few painful minutes. Deserving of a 5 star to split this middle, how can you rate something as bad if it knows that it is?
