24 Hour Rental

This is a dark humoured TV series that I would recommend to everyone who has the stomach for it.

It's clever, hilarious and edgy all put into one show.

There's something about this series that reminded me of Clerks at times.

It reunites the best group of anti-heros you could ever see in today's Canadian television. Mike Smith (Trailer Park Boys) is fantastic.

I believe it's playing on Super Channel. Personally, I could totally see Netflix being interested in buying this great Canadian content.

You should definitely watch this!

I really don't get why the ratings are so bad for this... I loved this show. I was already a fan of quite a few of the actors in the show (mostly from other Canadian movies seen at film festivals or random Canadian-based movies I've picked up over the years), so that added to my liking of it.

It definitely is a dark humour type show, so it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy that. It's not everyones cup of tea, but for those that do enjoy that type of humour, this should be a hidden gem.

My only issue is that it is only available through SuperChannel. Would love to get the full season on DVD or BluRay or something at some point. I'd also love to see a second season. I feel like that would add to the quality (maybe a higher budget or something) and bring everything together better.

I definitely recommend it if you're into dark humour and movie rental stores. I mean... I wouldn't suspect any of the rental stores that are still open in my area (seriously... there are...) to have a people cutting off fingers and talking about selling bad drugs in the back room. Definitely a wicked concept.

I see what they were kind of trying to do here but this show just didn't have any teeth or anything real to say. The worst part was the cast who were pretty much completely terrible to a man. The writing was also bad with really stupid stories and jokes that made us cringe and groan. Could have been a good idea for a show but it's like they didn't really care how they pulled it off or presented it. Were these just the cheapest actors and writers or something?

This was a great idea but had some very bad elements resulting in a show that was just average. Too bad because the idea could have been a great show. The acting was especially bad (whoever cast this low budget show must have just picked names from a phone book) and the writing was quite bad. Needed much better execution, maybe the problem was the budget was way too low.

This show is so bad I can not believe that any network every made it or put it on their channel in the first place, how could they not realize how awful this show is? From the acting to the directing to the sets and lighting and writing and everything else this show is a huge failure!

Whoever is responsible for making this show should be banned from ever working again in television for the rest of their natural lives, it's that bad.

It's a comedy that is not even close to ever being funny. The actors are all terrible or maybe they are just not trying because they realize how awful this show is and are just doing a job to pick up some quick money. The stories are stupid and predictable. Plus who wants to watch a show about a movie rental place that was made after 1999 which is the last year I think anyone on planet earth rented a movie?
