Josh Hutcherson was spotted this week on a coffee run with his girlfriend.

The 31-year-old actor grabbed coffee with his longtime girlfriend Claudia Traisac on Tuesday (August 13) in Los Angeles.

Josh and Claudia first sparked dating rumors back in 2013, ten whole years ago! They’ve been going strong ever since.

Claudia is a Spanish actress and is known for her roles in High Seas and The 7th Day.

The couple first met onset of their film Escobar: Paradise Lost, which happened to be filmed around the same time as The Hunger Games. They actually played each others’ love interests in the film before they started dating.

It wasn’t until 2015 that Josh confirmed their relationship though. In an interview with E! News, he claimed that, “It’s pretty good, distance is hard, but we make it work.”

Josh Hutcherson is reflecting on the role that could’ve been over ten years ago when he auditioned for 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man.

The actor was close to playing the Marvel superhero in the reboot, but the role ultimately went to Andrew Garfield. Hutcherson said no one told him why he wasn’t selected to give life to Peter Parker but the silver lining was that he was able to land The Hunger Games instead.

“You never find out,” he told Inverse in an interview about not landing the Spider-Man role. “They just end up hiring somebody else. So, I never found out why. I also do know that three weeks or so after I auditioned, I ended up getting Hunger Games, so it kind of worked out.”

Hutcherson also told the publication he “was a big Spider-Man fan all my life from the old-school cartoons and stuff.”

Spanish mini-major Filmax has picked up international sales rights to “Teresa,” the new feature by Paula Ortiz, a fictional story turning on the prominent Spanish mystic and religious reformer Saint Teresa of Jesus.

“Teresa” marks the big screen adaptation of Spaniard playwright Juan Mayorga’s stage play ”La lengua en pedazos,” which narrates a meeting between Saint Teresa of Jesus – also known as Teresa de Ávila – and a character called The Inquisitor.

The feature is not a classic biopic, but rather a free adaptation of the text written by Mayorga – a winner of Spain’s National Prize for Dramatic Literature – which in turn, is based on “The Book of Life,” by Saint Teresa herself.

In Italy, Pierfrancesco Favino needs no introduction. At this year’s David di Donatello awards ceremony — Italy’s equivalent of the Oscars — a Favino film was nominated in every major category. A shortlist of the directors he’s worked with — Gabriele Salvatores, Giuseppe Tornatore, Marco Bellocchio, Gianni Amelio, Gabriele Muccino, Ferzan Ozpetek, Mario Martone — reads like a who’s who of Italian cinema.

Italian actor-turned-director Andrea Di Stefano, whose sleek cop thriller “Last Night of Amore” just had its U.S. premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, is in advanced stages of development on “Karski” a feature about Jan Karski, the World War II Polish resistance fighter who risked his life to blow the whistle on the Holocaust.

Di Stefano’s high-profile project, which is titled “Karski,” is being developed by New York City-based production company Phiphen Pictures, the indie founded by Molly Conners most recently behind Netflix’s “Like Father” and “It’s Bruno!,” the director said. Italy’s expanding Indiana Production, which shepherded “Amore,” is also on board.

Karski in 1942, defying great danger, twice infiltrated Warsaw’s Jewish Ghetto to witness its horrors and managed to give first-hand accounts of the Holocaust from the Warsaw Ghetto to the Allies, including U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943. But his alarm cries fell on deaf ears.

Italian actor-turned-director Andrea Di Stefano, whose gritty police drama “The Last Night of Amore” is launching from the Berlin Film Festival’s Berlinale Special Gala section, reps an Italian anomaly.

“Amore,” which refers to a police lieutenant named Franco Amore, oddly marks Di Stefano debut directing an Italian-language film after helming well-received U.S. indie thrillers “Escobar: Paradise Lost,” with Benicio del Toro, and “The Informer.”

Sumptuosly shot in 35mm film and set in present-day Milan, “Last Night of Amore” harks back to Italian genre films of the 70s and 80s but has a fresh contemporary feel. The plot sees the good lieutenant, played by Italian A-lister Pierfrancesco Favino being called on the night before retirement to investigate a crime scene where his best friend and long-time partner Dino has been killed during a diamond heist. Italian actor-turned-director Andrea Di Stefano, who helmed well-received U.S. indie thrillers “Escobar: Paradise Lost,” with Benicio del Toro, and “The Informer,” is set to make “L’Ultima Notte di Amore,” his Italian-language debut.

Universal Pictures Intl., Focus Features, and Italy’s Vision Distribution have worldwide distribution rights on the pic, which toplines Pierfrancesco Favino (Cannes competition title “Nostalgia” from Mario Martone).

The film’s title, which translates as “The Last Night of Love,” is a play on words. Amore actually refers to a police lieutenant named Franco Amore. On the night before his retirement the lieutenant is called to investigate a crime scene where his best friend and long-time partner Dino has been killed during a diamond heist. We soon find out that Amore was involved in the diamond heist and learn how the love of his wife Viviana will help him survive this fatal night.

The film’s screenplay is by Di Stefano.

Pulsar Content has boarded Anissa Bonnefont’s erotic drama “La Maison” based on Emma Becker’s controversial bestselling novel chronicling the young author’s two-year undercover experience working as a sex worker at a Berlin brothel.

Now in post-production, “La Maison” is headlined by Ana Girardot, the rising French star of “The Returned,” “Back to Burgundy” and “Escobar: Paradise Lost,” as well as Rossy De Palma and Aure Atika (“10 Days With Dad”). De Palma will also be at Cannes to preside over the jury of the Golden Camera Award.

Pulsar Content has secured worldwide sales and unveiling a first still of the movie (pictured above). The outfit will introduce the project to buyers at Cannes with a promo reel. Rezo will distribute “La Maison” in France.

Radar Films, a Mediawan company whose credits include “Vicky and her Mystery,” “The Deep House” and “Divorce Club” is producing the movie with and Belgian banner uMedia co-producing.

HBO and HBO Max will be home to new original films, highly anticipated streaming debuts of new releases, and the finales of three popular series throughout February. Below, we’ve assembled a complete list of everything new on HBO and HBO Max in February 2022, and it includes a new thriller from director Steven Soderbergh and starring Zoe Kravitz called “Kimi.” The original feature takes place in a Covid-19 pandemic Seattle and follows an agoraphobic tech worker who discovers violent crimes have occurred in a data stream. The Max Original film premieres on Feb. 10.

Also coming in February is the “Raised by Wolves” Season 2 premiere on Feb. 3, with new episodes released weekly, as well as the season premiere of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” on Feb. 20. And coming to a close in February are the original series “Euphoria,” “And Just Like That…” and “Peacemaker,” which all air finales this month.

For its list of new releases of February 2022, HBO Max is bringing back one of its biggest original series.

The Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi epic Raised by Wolves helped launch HBO Max back in 2020 and now it’s finally back for another season. Raised by Wolves season 2 premieres with three episodes on Feb. 3. This season will continue the conflict between future atheists and theists on a remote planet, while two androids raise some kids.

February 2022 also sees the end of another, more recent HBO Max hit. Peacemaker airs its finale on Feb. 17. Thankfully that same day sees the premiere of another exciting original. Dream Raider is a Mandarin-language sci-fi thriller that carries some big Inception vibes.

There aren’t many original movies of note this month, but there are a lot of recent hits coming to HBO Max as library titles. Nightmare Alley arrives on Feb. 1, followed by The Many Saints of Newark on Feb.

Every year, movie-preview pieces herald the holidays’ arrival; in 2020, the headlines are a little different. As USA Today proclaimed, “10 Must-See Movies to Stream Over the Holiday Season.” They include “Soul,” “Mank,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “Let Them All Talk,” and “Small Axe” — major awards contenders, many of which would have have been theatrical releases. However, they all belong to streamers, not VOD.

Meanwhile, on Friday Vertical Entertainment dropped an action film, “The Informer,” which stars Joel Kinnaman as an ex-con who returns to prison undercover to expose a Polish drug cartel. Shot in 2017 and released in most of the world in 2019, this title from the director of “Escobar: Paradise Lost” is unlikely to show up on anyone’s awards-season list. However, even at $19.99 to rent, it topped two major VOD charts this weekend.

MGM Television, headed by Worldwide Chairman Mark Burnett, is making a push in scripted programming across all platforms and bolstering its development team with three key executive hires. Bradley Gardner has been named Svp of Orion Television, focusing on comedy and drama; Christopher Goble has been tapped as VP, Orion Television and will focus on the horror/sci-fi genres. Additionally, Jina Jones will serve as Head of Studio Development for MGM’s partnership with Brat TV, developing scripted content for Ya audiences. Paramount Network’s Bradley Gardner has been named senior vice president of Orion Television, where he will be the head of scripted programming, the studio announced on Friday.

As part of the move, the label is strengthening its development team with other executive hires, including Christopher Goble and Jina Jones. While Gardner’s focus will be on comedy and drama series, Goble has been named vice president of Orion Television and will focus on the horror and sci-fi genres. Jones has been named head of studio development for MGM’s partnership with Brat TV, where she will develop scripted content for young adult audiences.

The new hires will report to Barry Poznick, president of MGM’s unscripted and alternative television and Orion Television.

Spectrum Originals is making its first tentative move into docuseries ahead of the launch of Manhunt: Deadly Games and is eyeing its first Asian-American series.

Charter Communications’ original content division is prepping the launch of the Lionsgate-produced drama, which tells the story of the wrongly-accused Richard Jewell in this chronicle of the search for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Bomber, on February 3.

To coincide with this, the broadcaster is set to launch a short-form documentary series, Hunted, to coincide with the drama, which stars Jack Huston, Judith Light, Gethin Anthony, Kelly Jenrette and Cameron Britton.

Katherine Pope, who oversees the content division, told Deadline that it is set to air a six-part, short-form docuseries, produced by digital news brand Attn, consisting of episodes of six minutes to tell the “real story of the Atlanta bombing”. “That’s us dipping on our toes in [to docuseries] and we’d like to do more,” he said.

The mere opening salvo of “The Informer” contains nearly enough plot to keep many a lesser shoot-’em-up exercise occupied for an hour or two: Just 10 minutes into Andrea Di Stefano’s undercover-mission-turned-prison-break-thriller, a family has been set on the run, an FBI bust on a Polish drug cartel has gone tensely awry, a character’s identity has been neatly pulled out from under us, and a cop has been shot dead. Somehow, this impersonal but tightly wound Americanization of a Scandi-crime potboiler then continues escalating its short-of-breath narrative for almost two hours. For all “The Informer” lacks in surface style — shot and scored as it is in functional, straight-to-vod fashion — it remains a surprisingly well-oiled genre machine.

Panama is expected to raise its cash back rebate from 15% to 25% in the first quarter of 2020, confirmed Gabriel Padilla, International project manager at the Panama Film Commission, to Screen at the Focus event in London.

Film commissioners from Panama, Namibia and St Petersburg/Clearwater in Florida told an audience of producers and festival programmers of their desire to boost their industries at Screen International’s World of Locations breakfast and panel here on Friday.

“Our industry is growing and we have so many stories to tell,” said Maria Antonia Vergara of Panama Film Commission, which offers a 15% cashback incentive that could rise to 25% within a year once the measure is approved by lawmakers.

Narcotics drama Escobar: Paradise Lost starring Benicio del Toro was the first film to apply for the incentive. The France-Belgium-Spain co-production invested $5m into the local economy and qualified for the incentive because it met the requirements of a $3m minimum spend. If you thought we were finished seeing Pedro Escobar portrayed onscreen anytime soon, think again. After being played by Benicio del Toro in “Escobar: Paradise Lost” and Wagner Moura in Netflix’s “Narcos,” the infamous drug lord will next be portrayed by Javier Bardem in the creatively titled “Escobar.” According to Variety, the Oscar-winning actor will be joined in that endeavor (albeit on the opposite side of the law) by Peter Sarsgaard.

Sarsgaard, who’s had a busy 2016 with Antoine Fuqua’s remake of “The Magnificent Seven” and Pablo Larraín’s upcoming “Jackie,” will play a DEA agent aiming to bring down Escobar. Penelope Cruz also stars in this latest biopic, which Fernando León De Aranoa (“Mondays in the Sun,” “A Perfect Day”) is writing and directing.

First-time directors who swing for the fences with bold debut films can strike out hard, but actor-turned-director Brady Corbet’s “The Childhood of a Leader” is connecting in a big way.

The period drama premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival, where Corbet took home the awards for Best Debut Feature and Best Director, and is being released Friday through IFC Films’ Sundance Selects label. Corbet co-wrote the screenplay for the film with his partner Mona Fastvold.

While roles in Guardians of the Galaxy (and, soon, Star Wars: Episode VIII) have helped showcase Benicio Del Toro’s acting talent to the moviegoing masses, the Puerto Rican-American actor continues to impress with the likes of Sicario and Escobar: Paradise Lost.

Countering the blockbuster affair with tight-knit and intense thrillers is something the actor is clearly keen to continue, too, now that Deadline is reporting Del Toro will headline gangster flick, The Corporation.

After sparking a small bidding war between major studios, rights to the adaptation were eventually picked up by Paramount Pictures and Leonardo Dicapario’s Appian Way. Lifting inspiration from Tj English’s 100-page proposal, The Corporation: An Epic Story of the Cuban American Underworld, Paramount’s feature will have Del Toro play the part of a Jose Miguel Battle Sr., whose remarkable life is chronicled all across English’s generation-spanning adventure. David Matthews of Vinyl fame will pen the movie screenplay.

Video game adaptations have always struggled at the box office, a point which can be proven by the dreadful box office performance of Hitman: Agent 47, which has only taken in $22.4 million since opening in late August. There has only been one video game adaptation to earn more than $100 million domestically, 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ($131.1 million), but Ubisoft has high hopes of turning the genre around with Assassin's Creed, set to hit theaters on December 21, 2016. With production already under way, Ubisoft Motion Pictures president Jean-Julien Baronnet revealed in a new interview with Premiere that star Michael Fassbender signed on very quickly, while comparing the project to both Batman Begins and Blade Runner.

"[Michael Fassbender] accepted very quickly. And he was the only actor which we thought was obvious. So we started with the actor, which is incongruous. Even more incongruous, he engaged us with nothing. There was no script, no studio or anything.

It’s no surprise that Pablo Escobar’s decades-long rise from petty street crime to the “The King of Cocaine” has inspired more than a dozen iterations on screen. Beyond the varied TV documentaries, his persona has loomed large in cinema and the small screen ever since his inspiration for Paul Shenar’s Sosa character in 1983’s “Scarface”; Cliff Curtis’ brief but effective turn in “Blow”; last year’s “Escobar: Paradise Lost” starring Benicio del Toro; and the fantastic documentary “The Two Escobars.” The list of upcoming and recent failed attempts at telling Escobar’s story is nearly as long (Oliver Stone and Joe Carnahan each tried, unsuccessfully, to mount a film), and while the kingpin is clearly attractive to Hollywood and beyond, one constant remains — he’s yet to be the lead character in his own story. And it’s an unfortunate fact that continues with “Narcos,” the latest...

★★★☆☆ Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was the Colombian drug lord par excellence. Ruling his own fiefdom of Medellín, he first made his money stealing gravestones and ended up, through kidnapping, murder and cocaine to be one of the wealthiest criminals in history, worth an estimated $30 billion at the height of his power in the early nineties. Italian actor Andrea Di Stefano has ambitiously taken on the subject for his debut movie as a director Escobar: Paradise Lost (2014) and the result is an entertaining and suitably gruesome gangster thriller which nevertheless feels like a missed opportunity. Benicio del Toro is suitably weighty and fascinating in the lead role.

Don’t call it a comeback but Benicio del Toro is about to have a bit of a moment. His time in the Hollywood wilderness (The Wolfman, anyone?) came to an end with a key role in Guardians of the Galaxy and he’s an early contender for another best supporting actor Oscar after a blistering turn in this autumn’s hard-edged thriller Sicario.

He’s also got roles in the can for Terrence Malick and Harmony Korine, as well as a potential slot as the key villain in Star Wars: Episode VIII. While his turn in this week’s overcooked drama Escobar: Paradise Lost might not go down as one of his finest moments, here’s what we would pick instead …
