Let's Start a Cult

It's a low grade goofy movie and if you like Stav you'll like it. I really had no expectations going into this movie but laughed a bit and enjoyed it overall.

It felt like this movie could've benefited from either being a little darker humored or a little sillier because it fell in between often and had an odd tone.

The characters all were entertaining and this probably could've easily been fleshed out more and been a smaller limited series. Stav was pretty good and if you're like me he's the reason you found this movie and are here.

Overall 6/10. But don't let that score mislead you into thinking I didn't like this. It just wasn't perfectly my humor so some things didn't land for me.

I'm not sure why this doesn't get better reviews, it's hilarious and refreshingly different. It made me belly laugh several times, and the last two lines of the movie may be the funniest ending out there. It's sort of in the vein of Napoleon Dynamite, an out there concept with hilarious one liners hidden throughout. Yeah it's kinda weird, but that's what makes it great. I've also rewatched a few times, it gets funnier each time and I pick up on jokes that I missed with the first watch. The writers and actors are great, it's believable even though the premise is farfetched. Give it a try if you need a laugh!

Comedy movies are in a sad state and Let's Start A Cult is a breath of fresh air. It's not at the level of a lot of great comedies but Stavy carries this film and 90% of it is quite good. There are a few scenes where the acting is pretty questionable and a few pieces of the story could have been fleshed out a bit better but overall it really highlights the strength of Stavros as an actor and his ability to carry with his personality. There are very few movies I'd just throw on and rewatch after seeing them and this is one of them. I'd love to see more from this group and hope it made enough money to justify it.

It's a movie that was a fun watch and a good comedy it kept me intrigued by the characters all the way. It is about two guys who we're in a previous suicide cult thinking to start anew

The movie definitely deserves more credit than it does because of the way the story goes along and how it keeps the viewer entertained by the change of scenery or introduction of a new character.

I expected a B-movie for some quick entertainment for the background, but instead got a super funny movie that really shows that the writers/director know that it's a comedy and made sure to remind you of that! It was a classic stoner movie to me.

Movie was made on a shoestring budget but I got more laughs out if it than any new comedies on Netflix. Stavi is hilarious in his debut role. He is closer to John Belushi than any actor I have seen, meaning he can play the obnoxious yet loveable character that many can't pull off. Well worth the $5 on Amazon and I hope it leads to more roles in comedies that we desperately need. Stavi plays a loveable loser in a doomsday cult who is always in trouble with the cult leader. He leaves the cult to go back home to live with his parents but is disillusioned with a 9 to 5 life and decides to start a new cult of his own. Simple plot, lots of laughs.
