Netflix Continues Partnership With Prince Harry and Meghan Through New First-Look Deal
Image
Netflix is continuing to bet on Prince Harry and Meghan. The streamer announced a multi-year first-look deal with Archewell Productions on Monday, which means Netflix gets first dibs on any TV or film projects the company makes.

Archewell Productions made its first deal with Netflix in 2020. That led to the documentaries and reality series “Polo”; “With Love, Meghan”; “Heart of Invictus”; “Harry & Meghan” and “Live to Lead.” The Duchess of Sussex also partnered with Netflix on the lifestyle brand As ever as part of that original deal.

“Harry & Meghan” debuted in late 2022 and scored 23.4 million views in its first four days, making it the most-viewed Netflix documentary ever for that time frame. It currently ranks as Netflix’s fifth most-popular documentary series of all time. “Love, Meghan” scored 5.3 million views in the first half of 2025, making it Netflix’s most-watched culinary show since its release.

Though the deal...

‘With Love, Meghan’ Struggles To Match ‘Harry & Meghan’ Numbers As It Scrapes Into Netflix’s Ratings Chart
Image
With Love, Meghan has had a lot of press coverage. But the lifestyle series fronted by Meghan Markle struggled in the ratings, only just sneaking into Netflix’s top ten weekly ratings chart.

The eight-part series reached 12.6M hours viewed in its first week on the streamer. This was number ten behind ratings leader Kate Hudson-led comedy Running Point, which had 61.8M hours viewed across the week.

This was significantly down on the ratings for Harry & Meghan, which premiered in December 2022 and became Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever. That series, which was directed by Liz Garbus, debuted with 81.6M hours viewed in its first three days and adding another 97.7M in its first full week on the service as well as 39.7M in its second full week on Netflix.

Live To Lead, a documentary series produced by the pair, failed to hit the top ten on Netflix...

Prince Harry & Meghan Living On Borrowed Time Netflix Ready to Drop Them?
Image
British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on a downward spiral of dwindling popularity. On the cusp of Grifter’s new Netflix cooking show some are saying this is their last chance to have any hope of being relevant.

On pundit has gone so far as to say that the Duke and Duchess of UnSussexful are living “on borrowed time.”

Are the Duke and Duchess On Borrowed Time?

Netflix threw millions of unearned dollars at the Douche and Douchess of Sussex in 2020. They have little to show for it, except egg on the face and a gazillion negative comments on the YouTube preview trailer for the March 4 offering, “With Love, Meghan.”

Industry insiders think that the show must be a hit in order for the couple’s contract to be renewed. After accepting Netflix’s stupendous offer, the traitors have “produced one major success and...

Royal Family News: When and How to Watch Meghan Markle’s Highly Anticipated Netflix Cooking Show, With Love, Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Face Ultimate Humiliation, Sussexes Mocked at Netflix Event
Prince Harry
The glitz and glamour of Hollywood can be a fickle mistress, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are learning this lesson firsthand. Just weeks before the supposed launch of Meghan’s lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan,” the couple found themselves the butt of a joke at a prestigious Netflix event, raising serious questions about their future with the streaming giant and their fading star power in Tinseltown.

The Netflix season launch, a star-studded affair attended by the likes of Ben Affleck and Tina Fey, conspicuously lacked any significant mention of the Sussexes. Even worse, comedian John Mulaney took a jab at their expense, quipping about his own show, “Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan.” The laughter and “whoas” from the audience, as reported by attendees, suggest the joke resonated, painting a less-than-flattering picture of the couple’s perceived value to the streamer.

John Mulaney Roasts Harry & Meghan At Netflix Event
Image
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle weren’t present at Netflix’s annual programming event but the royal pair did catch some strays.

John Mulaney, who is returning to the streamer with a new live variety talk show, took aim at the Montecito residents as he was promoting the show.

“Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan,” he joked.

It comes after Netflix struck a rather handsome overall deal with the pair’s Archewell Productions banner in 2020. That deal has led to series such as the Harry & Meghan docuseries, which launched in December 2022, interview series Live to Lead, Harry’s Heart of Invictus, which premiered in 2023, Polo, which launched last year and Markle’s upcoming lifestyle series With Love.

The former SNL writer was full of gags during the presentation.

“I have to say of all the DVD mail order businesses that pivoted,...

Is Meghan Markle’s New Cooking Show Her Last Chance at Netflix?
Image
Meghan Markle’s Last Stand: The Kitchen

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, never in the history of streaming has so much been paid to so few for so little. But with the debut of the much anticipated With Love, Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have perhaps one last chance to prove they’re really worth the $100 million Netflix ponied up in that 2020 five-year deal to produce and appear in shows and movies. (Update: The series was supposed to release Jan. 15, but was pushed at Markle’s request to March 4 due to the L.A. wildfires.) So far, the couple’s output has been less than majestic. Yes, their initial 2022 domestic life docuseries, Harry & Meghan, was a hit, even if critics roasted it back at home (“So sickening I almost brought up my breakfast,” The Guardian sneered). But everything the Duke and Duchess have churned out since — their social justice series,...

Image

This raises questions about the future of the Sussexes’ Hollywood endeavors and their ability to maintain their lavish lifestyle.

Following their departure from the royal family, Meghan and Harry inked a lucrative deal with Netflix, a move seen as a significant step towards financial independence and creative freedom. Their tell-all documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” garnered significant viewership, initially suggesting a bright future for their content production partnership.

However, subsequent projects like “Live to Lead,” “Heart of Invictus,” and most recently, the animated series “Polo,” have all fallen short of expectations. “Polo,” in particular, received scathing reviews, described as “flat, plodding and really rather boring” by RadarOnline.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s last chance at fixing their Netflix deal
Prince Harry
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, entered a life-changing deal with Netflix in 2020.

This five-year, $100 million deal is almost up, and rumors have circulated that their contract is in jeopardy and will not be extended or renewed. The couple have become the butt of jokes over this Netflix deal.

Comedian Jo Koy roasted them as Netflix executives watched at the Golden Globe Awards.

Some projects by Harry and Meghan have been canceled, including the animated series Pearl and their Spotify deal.

But there may be good news for the beleaguered royal couple since reports are surfacing from Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer.

It is the time of the year that content providers like Netflix reveal what is ahead for the coming year, and Bela dropped some hints about Harry and Meghan.

With several projects with Netflix, like Harry & Meghan, Heart of Invictus, and Live to Lead,...

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Working On Scripted Series, Two Unscripted Shows & A Movie At Netflix
Image
There’s been a lot of speculation as to the future of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s deal with Netflix.

Fueled by their recent appearance at the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica, reportedly at the invitation of Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins, there’s been much talk as whether the duo would continue working with the streamer.

However, Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria seemed to quell these doubts by teasing a few more royal projects in the works from the pair, who signed an overall deal in 2020.

“Oh, what are they working on,” said Bajaria at a Netflix slate event. “They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon [Reigg]. And they actually have like a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a [scripted] series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV...

Meghan Markle on the ‘Wild’ ‘Suits’ Streaming Boom: ‘Good Shows Are Everlasting’
Image
Even Meghan Markle can’t fathom what has made her old USA Network drama “Suits” pop off on streaming services this year, but she’s here for it.

While walking the red carpet at Variety’s Power of Women event Thursday, Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, was informed by Variety’s senior entertainment writer Angelique Jackson that the legal drama has now crossed 45 billion minutes streamed on Netflix and Peacock combined, as of Nielsen’s latest weekly streaming report, released earlier Thursday.

“Isn’t that wild?” said Markle, who starred as paralegal Rachel Zane on “Suits.”

Markle said she has “no idea” what has caused the renewed interest in the series, but then ventured a guess: “It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to...

Image
The first project that Netflix greenlit after inking a mega-deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is finally coming.

More than two years after the streamer gave the go to “Heart of Invictus,” the docuseries will debut Aug. 30 on Netflix. The five-part doc will follow international competitors at the Invictus Games, an international sporting event that Prince Harry founded in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

“Our Invictus Games community represents some of the bravest and most dedicated individuals from 23 nations across the globe,” says Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, in a statement. “‘Heart of Invictus’ is the incredible story of competitors brought together through service, who are now united through sport. While in various stages of recovery from both visible and invisible injuries, these competitors and their loved ones give a compelling look at their journey to the Invictus Games, in...
