Sugarcoated for the classic taste!

I saw this on TV back in my school days, had totally forgotten about this for quite some time. Actor Irrfan Khan's passing made me to revisit this nostalgic classic and it was quite good, and the effect was same, like it didn't seem to be outdated. The child actors in this are awesome, they really bring the characters to life. The songs are good, bouncy, and clever. The story is warm without any of the treacly sentimentality that so often colors these movies. The film has a heart to shame most of the vacuous 90s output this generation has had to suffer, it's something I appreciate about old classic movies made for kids, especially this one.

before internet i thought i lost this movie forever

i was very small when i saw this movie on TV. it was aired back to back for few days on a channel. i remember talking about this movie in schools with my friends. i remember its song 'raghu saab' maybe because it was my 1st ever fantasy children movie with realistic touch which came because of low budget maybe but any way it worked on my generation. at least on those who got to see this. i am rating this movie just on the basis of nostalgia and going to watch it again. i just remember its about a boy who finds a kind of a magical coat which does what..well i am not going to reveal here. but sure i am gonna like it again. perfect movie for kids.

Impacting movie

I was born in 1992 and since i saw the movie it was stuck in my head i dont know how small i was when i saw it didnt know the name of the movie but i never forget the movie before iternet was not poplar couldnt find the name of the movie today i just searched i dian movie with a jacket which gives 1 rupees everytime u put ur hand in it.... so easily google gave me the name life was never this simple before. I still wonder why we remember just few things as a kid i dont remember alot as a kid but i guess certain situations or things leaves a long lasting impact on the brain which is hard to forget.

My best childhood memory

I saw this movie a decade ago. I remember that this movie had a lot of fun and excitement. For 90s kids, this is an evergreen movie.

SCIENCE FICTION IN ITS PUREST FORM

As a budding filmmaker myself, I cant admire this underrated masterpiece enough! Science fiction is so misunderstood among writers, to them this film is a must watch. It has all the Three ingredients you need in a good sci-fi film viz, a lot if Fiction, a pinch of reality and a Core.

It does not need VFX heavy sequences and larger than life characters. Sometimes a simple coat that generates money through its pockets each time the user puts their hand in, is science fiction enough to render an extra ordinary story around it!

Karamati coat is simply science fiction in its purest form. And is a film that brings with itself Magic and Nostalgia.

Definitely a must watch for all ages!
