Buoyancy

I was thoroughly impressed by this film. Especially the acting. I thought the story was finely crafted. It flowed very well and really kept me guessing without confusing or boring me. I try to see as many short films as possible because I think it is a difficult medium to exhibit. As an artist myself I understand how complicated it is to create a piece of art in a limited time. This film has done that exquisitely. I thoroughly enjoyed the directing as well. The pace was perfect and though the dialogue seemed banal at first, it was extremely natural and well delivered by the actors. I have seen it 3 times now and it only gets better. Excellent work!

This movie got me from the start. The twist and turns in this movie feel like your on a roller coaster. The actor in this reminds me of John Travolta...specifically in Phenomenon. John Heard is fantastic and very intense. You will never believe the ending. There were some beautiful shots in this film. Great original music. At one point I fell off my seat(not kidding). The cast in this film are very believable. I could tell that the actors were always "there". I forgot I was watching a movie after the first couple minutes because of the intensity and great story. I wanted this film to never end, Really enjoyed the ride on this one. This film would make a great feature.

Best independent film I have seen in the last 5 years.

It kept me guessing too. I don't want to ruin anything but there are a lot of twists.

I really liked the writing and I think the acting is great as well. There is a really interesting undercurrent in this film about what the cost of revenge is.

It reminded me of "Knife in the water" by Roman Polanski meets Memento.

Is this gonna be made into a feature?

I wanted to know more about the characters and see where the story goes. I hope so!

Totally worth checkin' out!

Rarely there has been a movie with such a good dark and chilling atmosphere. I even see this movie more as an horror movie than as a thriller because of that. "Buoyancy" is unique in many ways. The movies mood is already set right from the beginning on. The movie starts dark, intense, chilling and mysterious, a mood that is present throughout the entire movie. The mood is set by good camera work and lighting, or better said, the lack of it. The music from acclaimed composer Gareth Coker also adds to the chilling atmosphere.

Unlike many other movies from the same genre, the movie is slow paced and takes it time to develop the characters without falling into some obvious cliché's. The movie is filled with a seriously sickening torture scene, this seriously ain't no kids stuff! Dark and chilling movie that you will never forget also thanks to the ending which I will not spoil for you. A real must see. 10/10

Oh my god! This guy is the New Polanski! Just like knife in the Water. If you haven't seen this flick you have got to find a way. I just got done seeing it at a film festival and was able to talk to the director. Really nice guy. Not some arrogant Hollywood type at all. Very humble and interested in what I and some other excited audience had to say. And what I told him was I have never seen a film that on the surface seems like one thing and by the end is something completely else. RIVETING! I had no idea what was gonna happen. I asked him if they were going to make a feature and he said they were looking into it. I hope so. I wish Hollywood would start taking these independent filmmakers and giving them a shot. If movies were more like this I would be at the theater every weekend. Good job and keep them coming!
