Informative report on censorship and the struggle for freedom of press

First and most important is that this isn't a series, instead it's a short documentary made by a Brazilian based in the UK and one man who knows his stuff when it comes to talking about the problem of media and governments censorship, the one brought to the spotlight here relates to the state of Minas Gerais and its then governor Aécio Neves.

It's wasn't much of a mystery to me knowing about the issue since I knew of a most infamous case where a sports reporter was fired practically on live TV after denouncing a corrupt scheme involving the governor and his allies during a soccer match concerning reserved seats to the powerful guys while the common people couldn't watch the game due to those "bought" seats. This matter wasn't covered here but it's known to sports fan that the reporter never returned to cover the match after his denounce and one phone call was enough to get him fired on the spot.

What the film covers is how anything negative on Aécio Neves couldn't get covered by the media who had to present as the future presidential candidate. It's the governor interests alligned with newspapers and TV stations interests in getting the man in power, he was the only real good threat to defeat PT on the 2010 and 2014 elections (but the man failed to capture voters attention both times, also failing to get the essence of this grandad Tancredo, who was elected as president but died before taking office).

Here's an informative documentary on how the power structures work in Brazil and how trashy and hypocritical the system is designed. Bad publicity and missinformation are key in manipulating the news, there's bias and agendas to follow and we keep on wondering who controls who, the politics or the media thanks to a thin line between both that it's hard to figure out. Thanks to cases like this that we can say that the freedom of press fail to exist at times since there are good reporters doing a fine job yet they get gagged or fired for doing their work. Umbelievable. Just wished for a longer documentary but this one serves its purpose with efficiency and with information usually kept from the public. This is important. 8/10
