Am I the ONLY one who HATES this god-awful show? The title characters, Peg and Cat, won't shut up, they always sing that stupid "Problem Solved" song (which, by the way, is sung in EVERY EPISODE), and there's always a surprise musical number when I least expect it. A lot of you are going to disagree, well, I don't care. I'd rather watch Johnny Test or Problem Solverz (probably the inspiration for the "Problem Solved" song.). The only thing good about the show is- oh, who am I kidding? There is no good thing about this show! This is one of the most god awful shows in the history of television. Let your kids watch Nature Cat or something other than this god-awful show. Unless they like surprise musical numbers or protagonists that won't shut up!
The main character is girl who love math and goes on adventure with her cat. It is great to see departure from girl focusing on appearance. She wears comfortable clothing for girl her age and tries to help her friend in number of roles. I wish there as more quality programming like this when I grew up. Aside from reading rainbow of course. It is well thought out and my sons have both learnt a lot about math from show. As well I like the soundtrack my five year old son can sing whole intro by heart. It has a lot of engaging music and bright colors. It is nice to see show that promotes getting along and learning. Too many cartoons geared toward children promote violence. It is great to see show that teaches how to get along, that they actually want to watch.
Not that bad, but it appeals to children by a simple graph animation and a kid with a animal. Although Sarah and Duck is older and has a kid with an animal, I think Peg + Cat is not a copy.
Some pros is that it is educational and is a high quality show. It simplistic animation. The kid and the cat shows how to solve problems, educating children by the teaching skills that the studio produced.
Cons are it's similar to Sarah and Duck but not a copy and the show didn't last for long. Not gonna lie, I wish it lasted for a few years like Nature Cat.
But overall, another gold series by PBS. But, it didn't last that long.

If you're reading the review, you're probably wondering why I'm choosing to bash at a kids show about mathematics, but I hope that if you read this, it will make sense.
I have a younger brother, who - at the time this review was typed out - is six years old, and even HE doesn't like this show, and I've observed as to why. Ever notice that the characters always talk too fast to get the information grabbed at? There is never a breath of air between the dialogue. A similar issue to one I had growing up to Dinosaur Train. The characters spoke too fast, so I could never get invested in the lessons. They just whizzed by my comprehension.
Another thing to point out, the characters themselves. There's a difference between "simplifying" and "dumbing it down". Simplifying would be just explaining the basics of the concept, but dumbing something down is believing the audience doesn't understand because they're dumb. This show does that with its characters. When it showed Einstein as an imbecile (not even for growing purposes), I wanted to scream, and all the characters feel like cardboard cutouts that aren't relatable. Plus, Peg would overreact at even the smallest of situations, not even something that little kids would relate to.
One of the biggest annoyances that I'm sad to see in almost everything that's supposedly for children is hypnotic movement. Ever notice that all the characters speak and move non-stop and almost at the same speed? It's the equivalent of watching a watch waving back and forth or when you almost pass out from looking at the scenery zoom by when you're riding in a car. Both of those numb the mind enough so that you don't think about the show, but not so much to make you bored. This happens ALL around the show.
I know this is supposed to be for little kids to get engaged in math, but I don't feel like that was the intent. Even if it was, this show is a horrible way to engage kids to do that, because they don't even get engaged because of how bland, blank and hypnotic this show is.
I understand this is for kids, and you may call be a hater all you want, but kids deserve better than this show and this show deserves to be taken down.

My daughter absolutely loves this show and so do my wife and I. It mixes bright colours, math problems and very well done musical scores. I have too admit I had never thought that kids could really learn from a TV show, but she can now count to 5 and is even learning a few words and shapes. Everything she learns from this show can be applied away from the TV with her learning toys which is what I really like. All in all this is the show your kids should be watching, it's not weird or goofy for no reason and rather witty. Another nice thing is that there is some adult humour thrown in the background (not rude or crass mind you) but something too keep the parent as well as the child interested. I recommend too any and all looking for a good show that won't completely rot your child's brain.
