A charming, heartwarming adventure for both the young, and young-at-heart, this offers a fresh perspective on ancient myths and largely succeeds in bringing them to life. Reminiscent of the popular 1980s fantasy Legend, it offers a mixture of humour, romance, heroism and mild peril that is sure to have youngsters spellbound across it's 90-odd minutes. The special effects are good too, with lots of colour and light suitable for the themes involved, and some attractive locations (real and CGI) help bring the tale to life, while the vibrant and evocative Celtic soundtrack provides a stirring backdrop to the tales of derring-do.
Well worth a watch, and guaranteed to keep the kids quiet for an hour or so.

A lovely indie movie, enjoyable and full of imagination. If you enjoy fantasy this is a good movie for you. It is boiling over with the magic of folklore and has a great soundtrack. Along with wonderful costumes and delightful performances, this is a movie that makes you feel warm inside. You will be inspired to go out to the forest in search of sacred trees and fairies.
Horrible cinematography, utterly inexplicable and unfollowable plot. Terrible dialogue delivered by actors so incredibly wooden i thought they might start taking root. Very poor special effects.
I've given it 1 as the musical score isn't utterly without interest. Other than that failing to see any appeal at all. Trying to watch with my 6 and 9 year old daughters. They were both bored and wanting to turn it off after 10 minutes.
Haven't actually got to the end yet but writing the review to pass the time.
Not entirely sure how anyone could give this 10 out of 10...

Set in mossy forests, sunlit fields and river valleys, the movie has a charming atmosphere, further strengthened by an enchanting soundtrack. If you love magic and mystery, this is your film! Based on Irish and Welsh folklore, this is a tale of the links between the human and fairy worlds, replete with Beltane celebrations, maypole dancing, divination and Druidry. At the heart of the movie is the enduring love of Immrama and Lugh, beings from different worlds, who are willing to go through great challenge and sacrifice to stay together. This lesson of love and loyalty makes the film fitting for the whole family. It's optimistic and imaginative, a breath of fresh air for anyone who needs a bit of magic in their day.
Costumes look like costumes, not clothes that people would wear. The editing of the film makes it hard to follow at times. Dialogue delivered by "actors" is flat.pin American accents. But then, all of a sudden it goes into narration with heavy Irish accent. Little, if any attempt at authentic accents. Instead of showing, they spend time explaining plot. Lots of woodland scenes showed with no actors to take up time. Maypole dance inserted with no plot support. Music is added to fill in time not to help the story or setting mood. You get the feeling that, "We have all this Celtic music, we should cram it in." Long periods of music, dancing, not adding to plot. Slow movie, you keep wanting action. Special effects are nothing but poor. What is with a wizard wearing 21st century glasses?
