Terrible. tries to mix slapstick with emotion and doesn't work.
Terrible direction - all over the place.
A feel good movie. It's got a convincing storyline brought out by an excellent cast. Very nice setting in a pastoral countryside. Would definitely recommend!
The quality of the cinematography was poor but the story, screenplay, script and acting were all good easily overcoming the "home movie" feel. The humanity of a family going through transition was done with a respect for each family member. Each vignette was done with thought without dragging on - the swift transition between acts helped build a meaningful story from each person's vantage point while showing flaws but a sense of reality. Each actor was good and the sum of the family's experience was well worth seeing.
I have many more characters that I have to fill - uggh - well I am now done.

Wonderfully subtle, complimenting the action. I was so engrossed with the characters and the scenery but was struck by the accompaniment of the score and the music throughout the movie. Yes, even the percussion interludes, which you'll understand after watching. Contemporary, often etherial. I forget to read the credits (my apologies to the artists), and enjoyed the voice of Kellie Blase and her song (although I wasn't sure if the synch was off, or perhaps overdubbed, but it was too pretty to be petty while watching). Hoping someone might read this and update the technical part with the composers and other artists too. Lovely.
A great story about an adult family dealing with change. Really enjoyed the Irish humour and the study on the dynamics within this very human family! There doesn't seem to a classification for this movie yet but I would say it was at least an 'M'.
