Revenge as theme for a movie mostly scares. But not in this one. Here the revenge is so unique that the quality of the cast isn't the main thing for entertainment. Seldom i watched such an original script about a lovely game of revenge! Cary Elwes is a lawyer who likes to play it dirty and unfaithful in his marriage though his wife granted him with so much love, respect and financial back-up. So highest time so give him a memorable lesson. Meet the residents of a small village where our lawyer is stranded after car trouble. One day later one tiny thing makes him the most unwanted visitor in this small and mysterious community where everybody knows everything of each other - and unlucky for him - also of him! Get some snacks & soda and invite your teen-aged kids and watch for yourself how this story will end and teach your kids that they have to follow a respectful and family-friendly life path.
The greatness of this film is in the writing. If you enjoy dark comedies, than this film is for you. This movie is well acted with Cary Elwes and Teri Polo starring. Brooks (played by Cary Elwes) lives a life of luxury thanks to his uber rich wife Amanda (Teri Polo). Brooks has anything a man could desire but, it's not enough. Brooks weakness is that he likes to have affairs with other women. He has driven his wife to the point where she is crazy and decides to plot some major revenge. When her plan is carried out, all hell breaks loose. Suddenly, Brooks is caught up in a cat and mouse game for his very survival. The movie is a bit wordy but very intelligent like a Whit Stillman movie almost. I think it's fair to say that the movie is for a more sophisticated audience who can appreciate the black humor. I can't say enough about it. after initially renting the film, I went back and purchased it on Amazon so I could watch it again.
Maybe 7 years ago this was considered good. But in these days. No way. Very confusing, bad acting, not convincing, not catchy and in no way attractive move. Bad. Very bad ughh

I first saw this film in a theater. I watched it again last night. Really good flick! I first I hated the main character but, after all the hell he was put through I started feel sorry for him even though the who situation was funny. The ending was a surprise. Great actors..

What this film is about is revenge. It's listed a "dark comedy."!I guess that's a good description. I couldn't believe all of the plot twists. I never knew which direction the story was going as it's so fresh - so original. The acting was superb with Cary Elwes and Teri Polo. As soon as I finished watching it, I had to watch it again. On the second time around I noticed even more cool story twists that I noticed the first time. I checked up on the person who wrote the script and horror seems to be his usual thing. I think he is a genius for coming up with such an original script and so major League intelligent dialogue. I highly recommend this flick!
