When Logan and Blake ( Devon Werkheiser and Sean Marquette) head to puerto vallarta, things start to happen. Mostly bad. They don't have a place to stay. They meet crazy chicas. They get robbed. To make things right, they must tangle with some bad people. (my trip to pv was nothing like this...i'm glad to say!) co-stars Silverio Palacios. It's quite predictable for a porky's-like movie. Story is way over the top. It's okay. Filming seems to have taken place february of 2014, but not released until 2016... two years to edit? Maybe two years to find a distributor. Directed by Fernando Lebrija. The most interesting thing about this film is that DAD is John Higgins, Scott on Best in Show!
It's supposed to be a teen rebellion/comedy move and so they cast a bunch of people in their mid to late twenties. The main character is supposed to be 18, but he looks like he is 25. Why? Because the actor was 25 when they filmed it.
Perhaps the total miscasting would be less noticeable if the movie had more worth in other places. Unfortunately the only real fun came in the form of Chuy the cab driver. Overall a very bland and formulaic movie.

Some poor reviews but I thought it's actually pretty good. The main character does look like he's 30 though and was good not great by any means. The kid from project x would have been a better fit. Camilla belle was awesome in this, stole the show.
Sundown appears to be a typical high school teen type comedy with the occasional drama in which we have seen before. The film is what is expected it to be. There is conflict which occurs where everything is quite predictable. There are some decent moments in the end, as the film does get better as it progresses but overall, Sundown is just another forgettable film with nothing new to offer.
The casting isn't bad, but it's obvious the leads aren't teenagers as their characters are portrayed as. The humor is just isn't there, and at times it can be quite unfunny and feels forced.

You can't really think too much about certain things that happen in the movie. They don't make too much sense, if any. The inciting incident (the one that happens in Mexico that is), is so far stretched it makes you wonder how and why someone would be fooled again ... You know the saying: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice - shame on me.
The movie itself is pretty predictable, the sidekicks and love interests doing their part. There is a short scene that animal lovers will not like at all, but it is part of reality (unfortunately). Which also leads to something that is very far stretched, but you have to let that one go too. So the point I'm making, just try to enjoy as much as possible and blend out the flaws. If you can't (which is understandable), you won't have any fun

- TriviaThe fireworks scene was filmed on the beach at the Fiesta Americana Hotel at 2-3am without any warning to hotel guests. Guests were shocked awake by the sound of explosions outside their window, prompting many complaints to hotel management.
- GoofsThe prize money for the rooster fight is 70 000 pesos, less than 5 000 US dollars. Logan needs to buy back the Rolex for 5 000 dollars. When they return to the hotel, Blake goes for a night on town. "We have money" he says. Logan warns him: "Don't spend all the money". There was no money to spend if he wanted the watch back.
