    A mockery of Christianity

So much money spent on a story and it's execution just to openly bash the Christian faith and uplift the traditional idolatrous worship of the Ifa god. Christians are painted as gullible and clerics and music ministers are painted as deceivers and hypocrites.

I am Yoruba. The writers need to be properly educated as to what culture means in the 21st century. Culture covers food, clothing, architecture, entertainment, occupation, behavioral beliefs and attitude. Religious beliefs are now largely a personal thing and not necessarily a reflection of culture. YORUBAS ARE NOT IFA WORSHIPPERS as the movie supposes the worship of the idol Ifa is an element of culture that we are proud of.

To tell us she did a great job

Well for me I would say this movie is Lovely it tell us that the evil can't go unpunished and we should stop deceiving people because it easy for people to fall for a trap,we should be good don't trust someone with all ur heart ,they may not like u and pretend to like you the enemy in disguise we should just be careful because at the end we would be left alone of course yes so I would just have to say thank you and well done ma'am keep on the good job Toyin Abraham I wasn't expecting the movie to be this great but it turned out very prefect and most times our loved ones have to carry our cross.

Excellent Movie. Toyin Abraham outdid herself

Casting was excellent. Sharon and her "Idi Uganda" killed her role. Kunle Remi played the fake pastor perfectly. The young Asabi (Debbie Shokoya) was a delight to watch, the way she delivered her lines was extraordinary. I love the exhibition of Senior Yoruba Nollywood actors and actresses in the film. Antar Laniyan, Alapini Osa, Madam Saje, Lalude etc. The traditional settings were just pure brilliance.

And yes, there is hardly anything to see in modern Nollywood stories. Most themes have been explored over and over. A jilted lover seeking revenge is particularly well worn. However, the execution of the story by Toyin Abraham (popularly called Iya Bola by my kids) is just brilliant and keep you watching till the end.

The movie streamed multiple times in my home during the Ileya Holiday, everyone simply wanted to see Ijakumo. Kudos to the team, great work.

If you have not seen it, you are missing greatly. This is an A-Film. Thanks to Toyin for such a great work.

Came from a good story, but the filmcraft is botched

I am really not the type to lie. This was a solid idea. This story has a human centre. It is real, It could very well happen. I would not be surprised if this was a tale that the creators of this movie had heard somewhere adn decided to put it on screen. The audacity to attempt to tell this story is commendable enough.

The execution was piss poor. The acting could have used a lot work. The best actor here is a half-formed theatre kid. In spite of their efforts, and thouhg they destroyed certain other aspect of the fil; bad dialogue, bad cinematography, bad screenplay, the fact that it came from a good story is strong enough.

I hope we come to a time when we can take good stories and tell them properly; tweak endings, tweak events, baoance the equation, actually focus on character journeys for once, the better for us.

Nollywood suffers from a lack of structural storytelling. And I think I can help them fix that. I would explain how they messed up down to the detail but I would bring parts out of the film. Frankly, it is bad screenplaying too.

    Addicted

I am addicted to this movie and I watch it every day. The cast of this movie was a 100, and the character deliveries were also a 100.

Kunle Remi KR as I fondly call him didn't fail to dissect the character as always and delivered an excellent performance. KR plays any role given to him so well that it's beautiful to watch.

Lolade ogunsanya She is pretty talented and I am amazed by how she played two different characters.

Bimbo Akintola A legend as always and that part where she said "now before your god" omg gave me the chills.

Toyin Abraham She did a pretty good job with the cast the young and old character projection wasn't bad at all.
