Pieces of Easter (2013)
Alza Reese Bennett is a young African-American executive traveling cross country to be reunited with her estranged family for the Easter holiday. An auto mishap en route leaves her stranded, and Alza winds up on the doorstep of a reclusive farmer named Lincoln whose main goal in life is to be left alone. In the moment of Alza's greatest desperation, a deal is struck - Lincoln and his antique Chevy pickup will transport her the rest of the way for the price of $1000; the only caveat - no interstate highways. Amidst nonstop head-butting (attributed to Alza's spoiled arrogance and Lincoln's general grumpiness), the mismatched pair sets out on a three-day odyssey of misadventures along the highways and byways of America, where they encounter rat-infested motels, convenience store holdups, rural rabbit stalkers, and a star struck couple from the local trailer park. Best of all, they are forced to encounter each other, as the two worlds of the princess and the hermit collide at every turn.

This is the best Easter movie I've seen in a long time!

I love the movies that Kelly's Filmworks releases. They are wholesome films that you can let your entire family see. This movie was so funny, I laughed through most of it. Jefferson Moore and Christina Karis work so well together. And the supporting cast members were just as amazing; the studio players who have been in other productions of KFW's, as well as actors that I haven't seen before. The entire ensemble cast made for a very enjoyable movie. Even the restored truck that was used for the majority of the film fit in so well with the entire theme. All that, along with the great music, made this one of the best films that I've seen. I hope that everyone takes the opportunity to watch this wonderful film, and also sees the other movies from this amazing film company.

    Wonderful Holiday Show!

I was honored to have some songs used for this film. I had no idea how my music would be used, and/or how it would fit into the scheme of the movie...well, I was very impressed! The characters are earthy and layered, the scenery and cinematography are top-notch, and of the wonderfully restored Chevrolet pickup was a treat to see. Kristina Karis is immediately endearing, and I think she has a great future ahead of her. It was refreshing to see a movie that breaks many stereotypes, while at the same time lets us enjoy so many others! This is the kind of movie that "stays with you" and your appreciation for the film will actually grow for days after you first see it...and you WILL want to watch it more than once! Thanks, Kelly Filmworks!

    Pieces of Easter

Wow O Wow! What a great movie! I laughed so hard, I cried--and that was only the beginning first five minutes.Who The writing of this movie is incredible, the acting fabulous, and the comedy outstanding. I loved every creative moment. This takes the place of my first place movie, replacing "While you were sleeping" with Sandra Bullock. One of those movies that makes you think the rest of the afternoon and puts a smile on your face. I will definitely be purchasing for my DVD library in the future and several for friends birthdays. Highly recommended for a good "date" night movie or single females getting together for a "laugh" night.

    Much needed laughs

Loved this movie and many others produced by this production company.

I've had road travels like this where any and everything that could go wrong, did ! So I laughed quite a bit being able to relate to what life can sometimes throw our way.

I'd certainly recommend this movie if someone wanted a clean family comedy that was well done , not cheesy and had plenty of laughs. A great conversation piece on the true meaning of the Easter Holiday.

The actors were perfect for the parts and it's so nice to watch a light hearted but meaningful comedy that didn't have any foul language or graphic scenes.

Pieces of Easter drives home an inspirational message!

PIECES of EASTER is a heartwarming, family-friendly film produced by Kelly's Filmworks. This movie is so appropriate to have been released around the Easter season. Jefferson Moore (The Perfect Gift, Another Perfect Stranger) shifts from his portrayal of Jesus to become Lincoln, a rugged "hermit" (as characterized by Alza Reese, played by newcomer Christina Karis).

When Alza's car breaks down in a VERY small backwoods town, she reluctantly hires Lincoln to drive her to her family's Easter reunion some three days away. The interactions and situations which follow are hilarious, thought-provoking and uplifting. Christina Karis is fantastic in her debut film and Jefferson Moore, always a solid lead actor, capitalizes on his resemblance this time to---sorry, you'll just have to watch the film. I enjoyed PIECES of EASTER and I know you will too!
