What was this about even? Not the movie itself, but the show whole series. Probably big part of the issue is that I completely forgot about this movie, when it came out in 2023, and remembered about it only know, when I practically have forgotten what happened before. But I also think it's just boring.
Original show (if watched in proper order, at least) was quite fun. Girl spies, some steam-punk with magic or whatever, intrigues in the government, almost Game of Thrones, but through a Japanasing Beam. Most episodes, from what I remember, had good pacing, they had chasing scenes, infiltrations, fights, and everything felt... "Tight".
From very little what I remember about 1st movie it was not as exciting as the main series, too, but was watchable. 2nd movie was kind of the same. I guess, 3rd one is also kind of the same, too, if not worse, then. But the fact that I started fast-forwarding some talking scenes just showed, that I am not into whatever is happening here. I thought it was if not the last movie, than at least 2nd to last, and in that case I might have decided to watch 4th, but... They plan to have 6 movies in total, and I am not sitting through those.
I find it a very odd choice to how they are continuing the story, really. 6 movies, each about 1 hour long, which is shorter than majority of movies, and each seems to be released with around 2 years gap. Why not take longer and then release a 24 episodes season? Or 12-13 episodes, if you cut most of the pointless talking. But even if you don't do that, episodic format may just work better for this style of narrative: 1st part of the episode is like an intermission, updating us on consequences of what happened in the previous episode, and then 2nd part is more "active" and dramatic, potentially with a cliffhanger, making us excited to wait another week.
As is, I find it just not worth the time, although it did have a few good scenes like Mary trying to escape through a window, and then a couple of escape scenes closer to the end, when C-Ball was used. They are just not enough to keep excitement for me.
