    Summary

Reviewers say 'Contraataque' is an engaging Mexican action film with mixed feedback. Praised for its well-executed action scenes and intense performances by Luis Alberti and Luis Curiel, the film's fast-paced storytelling and compact runtime are appreciated. However, some find the plot predictable and the writing clichéd. Dialogue receives mixed reviews, with some finding it believable and others pedestrian. The authentic portrayal of Mexican reality and military themes is noted. Despite varied opinions, 'Contraataque' is generally seen as a solid, entertaining action movie.

    Contraataque

An action movie that fulfills its purpose, being entertaining and providing a different perspective on Mexican justice. It doesn't escape the conventional, but it works.

"Contraataque" has a simple premise that has been seen in many films of the genre; however, the performance of some actors and that Mexican approach to justice is visually pleasing. Adding a small contribution to the cinema of that country, noting that its essence or culture is more than evident.

Within its cinematic sections, the work of Chava Cartas should be highlighted, a director who takes a turn from his previous productions and attempts to add the action genre to his history, achieving his goal and taking advantage of the window provided by Netflix. The director delivered some interesting shots with well-executed action sequences, in addition to reflecting the country's culture in all its splendor.

On the other hand, the development of the performances is decent, although they could have been better. Firstly, due to the performance of Luis Alberti, who takes command of the film with his characterization of the captain and strong expressions (at least at that point). Noé Hernández imposing the harshness and wickedness of his role as the villain. The actor Luis Curiel, from my perspective, is the one who does it best, and I emphasize his depth as a character, which is the one that tries the most to connect with the audience.

That is where the negative points lie that the movie needed to be greater. The script does not delve deeply into many of its protagonists, giving each of them a simplicity that can be counterproductive. If it had a more solid reason, perhaps the experience would be different. In addition to that, there are some interpretations that are quite mediocre, unbelievable, and even detestable to watch, but you'll be able to notice. Some scenes can also be added that have no coherence whatsoever, leaving plot holes or continuity errors. Small details.

"Contraataque" encompasses reflective themes that somehow add to all the action seen on screen. Justice, leadership, teamwork, drug trafficking, kidnapping, smuggling, dirty politics, military training, hope, survival, the loss of loved ones, among others.

In that sense, the movie is entertaining and stands out among many action productions of the year. It's not a gem, but for passing the time, it deserves a chance.

Counterattack: Light Action with Latin American Ambitions

Counterattack is a Mexican action film that clearly draws inspiration from the light, fast-paced style often seen in American cinema. Its plot is basic and predictable, built around familiar action tropes, making it an easy and unpretentious watch. While it doesn't aim for narrative complexity or deep character development, the film succeeds in keeping a brisk pace that holds the viewer's attention from start to finish. What makes Counterattack notable is not its originality, but its effort to contribute to a genre traditionally dominated by Hollywood. In that sense, it represents a step forward for Latin American action films, showing that the region can produce entertaining and technically competent works within this format. It may not leave a lasting impression, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a solid and enjoyable action movie to pass the time.

    Hollywood needs to redo this

I Found this movie while I was surfing. This movie has a Great plot, also great action, just needs a bigger budget and better lines for the characters to speak, unless it got messed up in the translation. It also needs a part two right away to continue the plot line. It ended with the next movie start right in the story. I would also keep a couple of the actors and actresses that were in the cast, but upgrade most of the actors. Even though, with the mentioned problems, I loved it and watched every minute of it. They need to not rewrite it, just reshoot using exactly the same story line and I would pay to see it.

    Surprisingly good, disappointingly short

It has been a long time since most average movies last at least 100 minutes, but this one delivers everything expected in just about 80 minutes. The movie really deserved more time, but don't get me wrong - it is complete. The scenario is engaging, the characters are likeable and realistic, and the action is on spot. The music and sceneries are excellent, enhancing the overall atmosphere. The actions scenes varies and progresses during the movie, but are each time good and adequately intense. While it feels a bit short, you just want more time with it. Despite that, it's definitely worth watching.

    Mexican version of Sicario style

I really enjoyed this movie. I'm not Spanish speaking hell I'm from Sweden but I truly enjoyed this movie. Didn't matter it wasn't in English. I think the acting was on point, photography was great same with effects. I felt it could have gone any way in the end but without giving spoilers it really held me on edge.

There were some minor things I object to or dislike but it's so small it what drags it down to 8/10.

And 8/10 is because I truly enjoyed it. For me a movie is good and I enjoy the whole movie then it's a 10. That's how ratings should work. If there's something I feel could have been better then I degrade it.

But rest assured. It's very watchable. Great action.
