‘The Accountant 2’ Has Already Grossed Over Four Times as Much as Ben Affleck’s Kevin Smith Cult Classic
Image
While it's true that Ben Affleck hasn't starred in a bona fide box office hit in nearly a decade, he's still firmly a member of the Hollywood A-list. His latest film, The Accountant 2, is having a solid theatrical run, although it could be argued that it'll actually find its audience when it lands on streaming. Distributed domestically by Amazon MGM Studios, The Accountant 2 is a sequel to the Affleck-led 2016 film The Accountant, which was distributed by Warner Bros. The first movie has developed quite a cult following on home video in the years since its release, which no doubt inspired a sequel to be green-lit. The Accountant 2 hasn't recovered its reported budget yet, but it has already overtaken several of Affleck's past films.

Most recently, it overtook the largely forgotten crime movie Runner Runner, which concluded its run with under $65 million worldwide, and less than $20 million domestically.

As gaming has grown in prevalence, so too has the wonderful world of gaming movies, giving us plenty of films to both laugh at when it goes wrong and cherish when done right.

The hits

Turning a video game into a movie is no easy feat. Video games are interactive and immersive, letting players explore worlds, shape outcomes and form emotional connections with characters in ways that films often can’t replicate. Of course, the opposite is also true...

A Horde of Giant Hungry Alligators in Action Horror 'The Flood' Trailer
Image
"We're all going to get eaten alive!" Yes, yes they probably will. Saban Films has revealed the trailer for an action horror movie called The Flood, another of these junky direct-to-video B-movie horror flicks that seem to be popping up all the time now. It's from the same bad filmmaker who also made Battle For Saipan, also with Casper Van Dien, who is back again for this one. A horde of giant hungry alligators is unleashed on a group of in-transit prisoners and their guards after a massive hurricane floods Louisiana. Yes, this is the alligators-in-a-prison movie, if anyone wants to watch. Starring Casper Van Dien, Nicky Whelan, Louis Mandylor, Devanny Pinn, Ryan Francis, Randy Wayne, and Kim DeLonghi. This does not seem worth anyone's time or money - steer clear of this one, folks. There are plenty of other better giant alligator / croc movies to watch instead: Sewer Gators,...

CBS Studios has news today for Paramount+ subscribers in the US and in Australia.

The series, which is slated for 2023, will feature local stories with Aussie actors and producers and be filmed in one of the world’s most scenic harbor cities.

Set to open virtually at Metrograph starting this Friday, we’re pleased to present the exclusive trailer.

As the official synopsis reads, “In 1981, Klein and three camera crews were given exclusive, unprecedented access to the tournament for the first time in its 90-year history, and using that doorway into locker rooms, TV studios, and players’ boxes, he shot the ultimate behind-the-scenes look at the 1981 French Open. With Klein’s customary eagle eye and whirlwind energy, The French showcases the noisy bedlam that accompanies any major sporting event, while also...

B-Town's hit actor-director duos are back this year
Image
By Anjuri Nayar Singh

Mumbai, March 9 (Ians) Hit director-actor combos are all set to be back in business this year. From Rohit Shetty-Ranveer Singh to Salman Khan-Prabhudheva and from Taapsee Pannu-Anurag Kashyap to Ranbir Kapoor-Ayan Mukerji, there are a host of teams lined up in some of the biggest projects, which have spelt magic at the box office in the past.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels this is always a boon. "It is always better to repeat 'jodi's. It doesn't matter if it is actors working again with each other or directors reuniting with actors. The expectation of the audiences increases and there is a curiosity. But, yes, at the end of the day it all depends on content. That has to be good," he said.

Talking about working with Abbas-Mustan again after eight years, in the upcoming film Penthouse, actor Bobby Deol said...

Young Bernie Sanders Makes a Blood Pact With Stalin in Satirical Comedy ‘Free Lunch Express’ (Exclusive Trailer)
Bernie Sanders
In a plotline nobody saw coming (let alone a movie being made about it) a young Bernie Sanders swears a blood oath to Joseph Stalin in the trailer for the upcoming satirical comedy, “Free Lunch Express.”

The movie is clearly not trying to portray Sanders in a positive light. For example, at one point, a young Sanders can be seen in front of a propaganda poster of Stalin, saying, “I totally pledge with this blood oath to dedicate my life to never picking up a dinner check, never donating to charity, and like in the glorious Soviet Union, making sure the government pays for everything.”

Malcolm McDowell serves as the film’s narrator. “Aw, Bernie, bless his cotton socks,” McDowell caps off the trailer by saying.

There’s really no way to properly describe “Free Lunch Express,” so here is how the producers sum up the film:

Once upon a...

Sunny Deol: Bobby deserves far more than what he has got
Bobby Deol
Bobby Deol completes 25 years in Bollywood and his elder brother, action star Sunny Deol, fondly recalls seeing him grow up in the film industry over the years.

Sunny Deol, who was already at the peak of superstardom in 1995 when Bobby took his Bollywood bow with Rajkumar Santoshi's "Barsaat", has been a steady voice of reason and guidance for his younger brother, in an industry where pitfalls and failure are as commonplace as glamour and fame.

"I always told him to be disciplined, get up early, be active and do workouts. Bob at that age was more into parties and stuff. I would discourage him from all that. He has grown up. Earlier, he used to be with me on shoot at times, my dad's shoot also. He had groomed himself," Sunny told Ians.

Bobby has had his share of rough patches during his silver jubilee run. Today, when he...

Leonardo DiCaprio Developing Utopian Series ‘Island’ (Exclusive)
Image
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and In Good Company Films are developing the utopian series “Island,” based on Aldous Huxley’s novel “Island.”

Originally tasked with exploiting Pala’s natural resources, he uncovers an independently developed society and embraces the people, their culture and traditions — including psychedelic adventures and alternative social structures. His experience alters the course of his mission.

Huxlery wrote “Island” as the utopian counterpoint to his most famous work, the 1932 dystopian novel, “Brave New World.” “Island” explores the themes of freedom and the power of human potential. Huxley died of cancer in 1963.

Davisson and DiCaprio will executive produce for Appian Way along with George DiCaprio and Roee Sharon. Andrew Alter and Jason Whitmore will executive produce for Igc Films.

Daniel Craig and Eva Green in Casino Royale (2006)
Films, Roulette, and James Bond
Daniel Craig and Eva Green in Casino Royale (2006)
When it comes to gambling, we all immediately think of roulette. This term is so deeply imprinted in our subconscious that our imagination provides the right images. The reason is easy to explain: Roulette plays a prominent role in many Hollywood films and series. The depiction of roulette has led new users to try the game at online casinos also where users can use free spins on registration no deposit and some other bonuses. You can apply the strategies used from your gambling movies while playing online.

There are, for example, a wide variety of James Bond films that occasionally venture into the casino. Casino Royale is of course the figurehead when we think of James Bond and Roulette. But the Bond film “Specter” is also about gambling. The casino scene with the Bond actor is always a must. What fits better than a game of roulette, a graceful young beauty,...
