Game 162 (2012)

Very good documentary taking a look at the final day in Major League Baseball's 2011 season, which many consider the greatest in the history of the sport. In case you're not a fan of the sport and wasn't watching, several times entered that game not knowing who they were going to play in the playoffs but the bigger story is that several teams were fighting to just get into the playoffs. The big games here were the Atlanta Braves needing a win after the St. Louis Cardinals won their game in Houston. Also, Boston was needing a win and leading Baltimore as the New York Yankees were up on Tampa Bay who also needed a win. What happened in the final moments is something those watching will never forget. If you're a Braves or Red Sox fan it's probably still way too early to watch this documentary because it's going to be liking cutting your arm off just to pour some salt in it. As a Braves fan I guess you could say I went into that regular season game expecting the worst, getting it so watching this didn't harm me too much. Overall this is a pretty intense look at those final minutes in each of the games. The documentary starts off by showing the first pitch in each game and then using a clock to show what was going on at various times in each game. We also get a "Win Expectancy" that is used to show what the odds were of the team winning. Just check the numbers on Boston and Tampa Bay and see how quickly they changed. I think the documentary waste some time looking at the series where the winner (or loser) who was already in the playoffs were battling for seeding. This really doesn't take up too much time but it really wasn't needed either way. GAME 162 is a good look back at that historic day and it's a nail-bitter even though you know the outcome.
