If you take out the impossible, the rest however improbable...

This one caught me unawares. Not a typical teen romance and college drama. The story has it moments of warmth. The plot, even as improbable as it unravels, leaves one with lots of mixed feelings. Okay, i do accept that the story sounds impossible and the actors are a bit warped, but never in the film do we get a feeling of getting bored or distracted. The message that you should try to pursue what you like rather than follow someone's advise, gets home. Of the actors, the heroine Jenna Kanell does a commendable job. Give it a try when you are bored with REALISTIC movies that float around..variety is indeed the spice of life.

    Unlikable lead character

If you want to write a love story then you better have your protagonists be at least somewhat likable. The Adam character was impossible for me to like. Who could like a bitter, depressing, jerky drunk driver? If you can get 20 minutes into this movie without hating him then you probably weren't paying attention. When he starts interacting with the other lead, he doesn't get much better. And to quote her, "He isn't even that good looking..." so I wonder why she bothers with him. From everything we saw, she should hate him.

The mother in the opening scene was also a tough watch. I can't believe a director saw that and decided it was acceptable.

    I Enjoyed This...

This is a good one-time watch movie. The subject matter was different so that helped take it away from the same garbage that's out there now. The problem I had was they breezed by this guys abnormality without enough explanations and it seemed a bit odd to me. Left me thinking that they could have done much better when it came to Adam and his character... You cannot create a character with an unknown blood type and not delve into the hows and whys. This film was too evasive about that and yet the title of the film was indeed ABOUT THAT. It was good but could have been done better...Couldn't stand the actress that played Kaitlin's mother. Awful acting and happy she wasn't in it much...

    Yes, I recommend this movie.

    An unexpected romance

I was thinking this was going to be a thriller or maybe a horror story. Instead it was a touching love story. I am struck that this is the story "Twilight" was trying to be - an old soul at a college falls in love with a dreamer.

The acting and script got a bit stilted at times - a few scenes felt almost "college film class" in their presentation. But they don't detract from the movie and maybe even give it some of its charm. It certainly isn't overproduced.

I really don't want to say too much - it was fun discovering the movie, and in these days of formulaic movies preceded by "tell you everything" trailers, to watch a film having no idea what to expect was a nice change.

Very well played, and highly recommended as a character drama.
