I would say no more than 7 for the story but the idea of doing it with an IPhone and the great editing of this short movie make it a full 8! I like the Indian taste of all this movie, even if it's so far away from some Bollywood productions that often leave you with the feeling that you just waisted some of your time watching a banal glittery love story with no deep thinking under it. Backspace is very different from that kind of movies and it is an art film for me. I like the idea that we can do great cinema using a mobile, I like that filmmakers as Phanindra Narsetti can express their creativity with less worries about how expensive is making a movie, I like that Backspace shows how much is important to have the right ideas, not the expensive equipment. I hope to see more from this young filmmaker, India is getting more and more important on the international scene not only for the plastic movies made in Bollywood but also for a good choice of art movies.
Brilliant / Amazing / Awesome / Excellent - which word is apt for this short film?
Its a brilliant idea with amazing screenplay which is really awesome and getting excellent feedback from viewers
Perfect screenplay with best BG score and resolution. Dubbing is little bit disappointing but overall its fair enough and pretty good short film. Making a good film at such low cost is really thought provoking.I watched RGV's movie DM, for which he spent 5.5 lacks and this director left a challenge for RGV
Phanindra Narisetti - Rocked
Rest of the team - Fantastic effort
Gold fishes / next generation chicken - Rest in peace, we are sorry (on behalf of team)
As Trivikram said, even a one lac rupee lottery ticket should be purchased with hardly earned one rupee only
Brother, If you make few more rupee coins like this, future will be yours for sure. I mean it.

10 things I love about this short: 1. Screenplay. (this short follows the very fundamental rule of storytelling. "Its not what you say but its how you say that really matters!") 2. Genre-Fantasy. (Cos' we are all bored watching regular and mundane sci-fi, abstract and amateur shorts. The element "what if?" makes this interesting.) 3. Style. (Instead of borrowing or stealing someone's style, the team came up with its own tone and look which makes this a pebble among stones. example, the way the performer pulls and wears his shirt from the washing machine. Look at those jump cuts! fabulous, i say. Apt use of slow- mo.) 4. Cinematography. (Come on! they have filmed this entirely on an IPhone? look at the angles, inside the washing machine, Side Snorri-cam while the lead actor is running.) 5. Visuals (opening close up of the gold fish and the paintings) 6. Production design (the way the director made use of every single object in the frame. A perfect Hitchcock!) 7. Color (a greenish-brown-gold tone of its own) 8. Lead actor's Performance (as subtle it is, as enough it is!) Now comes the killer parts! 9. Scoring (that's so haunting! the pace of the music was the backbone in most of the scenes) 10. Editing (Now this needs some special mentions. Most beautiful application of jump cuts after Aronofsky and Edgar wright. You won't be able to pluck out a single scene. The number of shots put together are unlike any short i have ever seen. And the use of symbolism was perfectly placed.)
And i am a graduate at NYFA. Found this very fortunately while browsing "IPhone short films". And i've never imagined someone from the so called country India making such a great use of technology with his/her debut effort. Well there may be mistakes. But what is art without mistakes? Every filmmaker makes them. Thats the way you iron your wrinkles. Great job Phanindra Narsetti. keep 'em coming!

Backspace is a real good haunt for thriller like short film and this would really groove the mind of the viewers as the every minute of the short strives for the next minute. It's a special thought and it's a special short. adding the very best to the director's thoughts and finally gave its output. Backspace simply proved that it's not with money or something big to do, it's just directorial...!
Backspace is special...! it has got a real good background music and every second of it has got mixed with the situation... Hallow shots. Figured script. Funky appearances . triggered music to every scene. more than a short....!

To put it in plain words, Just Fab. Terrific screenplay. Awesome visuals. Intriguing BGM. Stylish and intelligent. Given the fact that the entire short is made inside an iPhone4s, including shooting, editing, writing and dubbing, this is sort of a revolution in making shorts. Anyway, its a great viewing experience. One of the best shorts available out there! May not be in terms of production values, but definitely in terms of plot, screenplay and debut execution. considering that this is the debut effort of the team, this is pretty good. And use of props is great and the director played a lot with symbolism. that shows his grip and interest to details.
