This TV show is about the Tulip Era of the Ottoman Empire (late 1720s). The show has several different and complex characters and has a great story on how each character feels. The story develops very well as the new episodes are shown on TV. The costumes are well designed and the art director considered the details of each costume, especially the costumes of the royal family.

Actors reflect their characters fairly good. Especially Patrona Halil's personality is very well described and the actor is doing a great job in showing how he feels as he experiences several different events. Love stories are also pictured very well and unexpected love stories can develop as the season progresses.

Overall, the directors established great studios for the show and artistic details are well considered.I hope a version with English subtitles will be out soon.

the Ottoman Empire in the middle of XVIII century. a brave hero, fighting for his love and against a corrupt regime. an original bad guy, exposing his sins and small virtues. impressive details, fight scenes, secrets and murders and danger and policy mixed with beautiful and dramatic love story. for the Turkish historical movies public, nothing surprising. for the others, maybe too sweet and unrealistic situations. in fact, a precise, coherent and honest portrait of a significant crisis, with its levels, causes and unsuccessful solutions. all in the frame of a fairy tale who gives the expected atmosphere to a decent series.

it is not difficult to criticize it. or define as decent work. its virtue remains the science to present, in precise manner, the spirit of a period using different personal stories, proposing a special character - Patrona Halil -, obscure details from an empire in crisis,inspired music, difficulties of a society in change. good portrait of the Otoman XVIII century, it is an useful series. for costumes and for the atmosphere. for the memories about another historical films and for the solutions to present the fall of a great power as web of social cries. for the acting and for the force of each character. for the beauty of details. and for the revenge in right angles. for something, a kind of artistic spice, who makes the Turkish historical series for the last decade to be more than interesting but seductive at all.
