Victim of a rare genetic disease keeps his chin up

This is about a man, Chandra, who lives in Indonesia and has a condition that has caused his skin to be covered in small benign tumors that appear as bubbles. He started to see signs of the disease as a teen, but was covered in the tumors by age 32. He has a good attitude, probably due to his supportive wife and children.

The University of Maryland got involved in finding the source of the disease, and it turns out it is a case of NF-1 - a genetic disease that effects the growth of cells. The elephant man had this condition. What is odd is that though it is caused by a gene, apparently Chandra is the first in his family to have it. Unfortunately testing has shown that two of his children also have the disease.

This wasn't a documentary with a great happy ending, as there is still no cure or real treatment. At the conclusion of the documentary he was having surgery scheduled to remove the more troublesome tumors around his eyes and nose.

About one of 2500 people have "NF-1", but Chandra is just manifesting the illness in a much more extreme fashion than most people who have this condition.
