teenagers

I saw it as a film about teenagers more than about lesbianism. In same measure, a film about family . Well acted, nice crafted, decent exploration of sensitive themes.

Indeed, homophobia is not rare or insignificant. Maybe, because, out of the pure cruelty of young people - same root like bulying , the fear about the different other rules. So, to assume your sexual orientation is, always, in every society, just a challenge. The film reminds this and it does it in reasonable manner.

But its basic virtue is to remind simple truths, from parenthood and ambitions of parents about modelling the life of their children to the virtues of friendship and cold sources of bulying. For each of that details, La vie devant toi remains not a great movie but a profound useful one.
